I purchased this dvd on Mickey Mantle because I have been following his every move since I was 10 years old. I have a section of my basement which looks like a Mickey Mantle hall of fame. The dvd was very moving and sad that a player with his God given ability wasted his chance to perhaps be the greatest player of all time. I would recommend this dvd to any Mickey Mantle fan. This was well worth the price.

The MANTLE video is a great story about The Mick!
) WE saw it on HBO one time and loved it. I bought it for my husband for Christmas and he was so excited! This is definitely one to keep if you are a baseball fan!

Mantle (2006, DVD)
) When I was just a teen, the Mick was my hero and the Yankees were my team. I followed his career and post-baseball career and was deeply saddened when the news of his illnesses became public. However, with his one news conference at the hospital following the transplant, he became a bigger hero and a greater influence after baseball than he ever did while playing. This is a tremendous story and an excellent documentary by HBO. Recommended for all persons who love the game regardless of their team loyalties.

Mantle Documentary well worth the timeHaving grown up as a Yankee fan, with Mickey Mantle as my childhood hero, I am always interested in new or old products related to "The Mick". I had not seen this documentary as I do not subscribe to HBO, so I was ragar to view it. It does not disappoint. I was in tears at the end as Mickey's last and most courageous fight was told in words and pictures. The archival footage is great and even though most of the stories are very well known by now, it is presented in a thoughtful and truthful manner. I was able to get it for a good price on auction and will enjoy again many more times.
