This was not one of Debbie Macomber's best and I LOVE her books. I just thought it a little boring.

nice title both sisters do get married
Review created: 01/03/09

There are two stories in this book. The Cowboys Lady and The Sheriffs Takes a Wife. I liked them, not the best but interesting. In the first Taylor moves to get away from a romance gone bad. Within her first week of being there she runs across Russ and his little sister, Mandy. Mandy and Taylor become fast friends and Russ just isn't sure about this city girl. She's in the country now. They see a lot of each other through Mandy. Mandy and everyone in town can see that they are falling for each other, the only ones that can't see this is Taylor and Russ.
There is one chapter where Taylor goes out to the farm to see Russ and she comes upon him when he is trying to get a calf unstuck. He challanges Taylor to get it unstuck, since she can do a better job than he. She falls on her butt in the mud. It was so funny, I can really picure it. Fun, fun.
Russ says dumb stuff that makes Taylor mad and they don't talk for a few days. She is a school teacher and she volunteers to go with the color guards to Vegas to watch them preform. Russ is the bus driver. They end up talking on the bus, he does something stupid and that's that. Once they arrive, she agrees to dinner. They talk, hit it off and decide so do some shopping while the girls are practicing for the show. This is when they realize that they love each other. Once they return to the hotel, they order pizza and nearly make love. Finally, she gets him to admit he loves her. He proposes and they are married that afternoon. Now, they have to tell his sister and her family. Mandy is very excited and disappointed because she wasn't invited to the wedding. Her parents are furious. They wanted a big, beautful wedding for their daughter. They finally comes to terms that their daughter is married and then at Thanksgiving when they visit, Russ and Taylor throw more news their way. She's pregnant. Great story. Love and laughter, can't ask for more.
Now in the second story, we met Christy. She's Taylors sister who is coming to visit to help Taylor in the last few weeks before the baby is born. Wehn Christy arrives Taylor is in labor and Russ is out on the farm somewhere. No cell phones yet. Christy calls the sheriff to notify Russ. Cody, The sheriff is near by and agrees to drive Taylor to the hospital. While Taylor is having the baby, Christy and Cody get to know each other. The attraction is immediate. They being to date, they fall hard to one another. Oh, and Taylor has a baby boy. The only problem is that Christy is engaged to another man. Christy wants to continue to see Cody buts can't figure out how to break it off with her fiance. She goes home with that purpose. Cody follows her and convinces her to marry him then and there. Now when her parents find out about this they are beside themselves. The big wedding date had been set. Now they have to accept the fact that both of their daughters married without them being there and that they will be living so far away from them.
Real nice story. I if tou have controlling parents, you'll love this story. My sister is like that and I can't stand it. I'm glad Debbie gives these women some backbone. You gotta read this one.

Just started reading when I broke my glasses. If it is anything like the manning sisters I will never put it down till it is finished. I definitely appreciated the fact that the sub titles were listed.
