Manhunt (PlayStation 2, 2003)

The list is long on what I liked about this game. The overall look of the game is dark and scarey. The sound effects are top notch - you can tell this is a Rockstar game right away. The playability is awesome, eventhough i must admit, it took me a while to get used to the numerous controls. I would highly suggest this game if you are into Halo and GTA - it feels like a mix between the two. My only complaint is the continued play. I found that after beating a mission, I was not interested in playing that mission again. Once I solved the game, I did not want to play it again. Overall, it was one of the best games I have ever played. Fourth on my all time list - behind 1. Pac-Man 2. Mike Tysons Punchout 3. GTA 4. Manhunt 5. Madden football 200X.

I think Manhunt for the PS2 is excellent because it's a very challenging and twisted game. Manhunt is a take on the stealth genre but with a twist since there is a lot of blood and guts, fighting and executions. If you liked GTA San Andreas, you will probably like Manhunt. It's got a very gritty atmosphere and the tension builds with every moment. Plus, the story is very unique and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I believe Manhunt for the PS2 has very cinematic qualities. In some ways, this game reminds me of the Saw movies because there is someone in control of your actions and your job is to kill before you get killed. The story begins with James Earl Cash being led to the electric chair. Suddenly, Mr. Starkweather makes a deal with you where you will be freed from death row if you participate in his "snuff film." There is definitely a learning curve because you have to sneak up behind various gang members who are after you and perform executions with various weapons. It's a violent game, but if you've played other Rockstar games you'll be used to it and enjoy it. Overall, I give Manhunt for the PS2 a 90 out of 100.

Manhunt is rated MA for mature so I do not recommend this game to anyone under 17 years old.

This is a must play game. It is so sick. The guys who made this game must have a screw loose because the killing in this game is nasty.

This game is amazing!!!!!!!!!!

From the first stage to the last, this game will suck you in. This is one of the best games I have ever played from Rockstar. First of all the sounds and graphics are sick!!!!!!!! Each gang has their own personality from normal crimals to crazy, drug using, crazy funny farm inmates looking for a good hunt. Also you the main character is great. From the beginning you feel like a madman. You job is kill gangs with everyday household items to military weapons using them in insane ways. For example you can you can use a ordinary crowbar and have a choice between breaking somes spine and ribs to stabbing their face and giving them an spitting headache and this is one out of the 24 weapons of hell. If love insane killing games with crazy grapics of carnage and gore buy this game, this money well spent.

WARNING: Not for easy stomachs

This game is quite bloody and the enemy A.I. is surprisingly good. Hiding from the enemy in the shadows after a good chase, in order to sneak up from behind and perform grisly executions with various weapons is the main selling point of this game. Challenging to get 4 stars, almost impossible to get 5 stars because that last star is the one you get from completing the level without wasting a second. I still have yet to get 5 stars due to the time limit.

This is probably one of the most frightening video games I've played, and I've played a lot of them. It is gorier and more violent than Grand Theft Auto, and has been banned in several countries. The game itself is average; the storyline itself sounds pretty interesting though. You play the character James Earl Cash, who was sentenced via lethal injection for an unknown, heinous crime. A sick, twisted producer, however, bribed the guards to give your character to him to use for a snuff film. You spend the entire game trying to kill your way through various gangs with the use of all types of weapons - from basic things like guns and knives, to things a little extreme, such as chainsaws, machetes, and even severed heads! It does get a little repetitive though, and as far as mechanics, it is your average stealth game. However, If you love a stealth game though that elicits anxiety, or has extreme amounts of gore and brutal killing, this is the perfect game for you!

Reminiscent of the Bridget Fonda vehicle Point of No Return, where a condemned killer is given a second chance at life if she ("he" in this case) continues to kill for the boss, Manhunt is easily one of the darkest games I have ever seen for the PS2. It's pretty scary in that most of the game you stalk your opponents, and if they spot you you're in big trouble.

Being a Rockstar game, it does have some character development, which makes it interesting. It also has plenty of gore. You can hold down the "execution" button longer to perform a more violent kill.

In short, this game is interesting to play, but ABSOLUTELY merits its "Mature" rating. Please do not let any children near this one!

Out of all the brutal games ive played,this one takes it to a whole new level.This game is great because it features a large amount of both melee weapons and guns.In this game you have to find everyday items and use them as weapons.When you fight,it is BRUTAL.You work your way through the abandoned parts of Carcer City during the night.Fighting tough opponents from a plain guy to Piggsy.

BOTTOM LINE-THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!!!!

I love this game it's very intense, has a gret story line and just draws you in like an interactive movie and won't let go till the end. definately worth the your time.

I enjoyed the game, because of the maturity level. Bought this game, because I enjoyed playing the game at my brother in law's house. I wouldn't recommend this for children to play. This game has a lot of cussing and blood and guts in it.

I played this game when I was younger and it's a great survival horror title. In the role of Cash, you were just "executed" by the state, yet you awaken in a room to find that reports of your death were slightly hasty. You are informed by a man named Starkweather that you have been recruited to perform in a snuff film (basically, recorded acts of murder). You make your way through 20 levels taking out several gangs of "hunters" all for Starkweather's sick amusement only to see the tables turn when you gain the upper hand.

Primarily known for the controversy the game's storyline and the gruesome methods of executing the hunters, it is still a very good game that emphasizes stealth. I will admit that this game is extremely brutal and very violent. Then again, it is rated "M" for Mature and shouldn't find it's way into the hands of impressionable youth. A great title for horror fans and those who just love violent video games.

I won Manhunt for the playstation for a very reasonable price and received in a fair amount of time, but what made this company so highly recommendable was that the game froze on four time in the first five minutes and I saw that they gave me a flyer saying to contact them if I had any problems and I did so they responded rather quickly and decided to issue me a complete refund including shipping.

this game reminds me somewhat of the movie 'saw' because you have some guy giving you directions and telling you what you need to do to open the next door or entry way that's the only comparison i can think of that comes close except you kill 'Hunters' to open doors rather then solve gruesome puzzles like in the saw movies a really fun game none the less and i must say its better then the second one in my opinion

Incredible game for anyone that loves gory, crazy action games. The killing was incredible and the gore had to be the most crazy stuff ever! It is an amazing game and highly recommended!!!

I wanted this item for a very long time, couldn't find it in stores, so i went online to find it, and this was the best price i could find, it worked so that was mattered the most,

After playing Manhunt 2, I decided I needed to try out the first one. While it is certainly more crude than the first, this game delivers, without the extreme violence of its follower.

Good game, not for kids.

I liked that I was able to purchase this game that is no longer available on the store shelves. It was a game my daughter wanted for Christmas. After searching high and low, I was able to locate it on Ebay. I am not crazy for the game, but then again I am not a teenager. Item was as described and shipping was acceptable. Happy with the overall experience.

As far as the experience with the seller was good.. Just the mailman left it at my door and before I waas able to get it someone stole it... Along with 2 other things I won and had delivered the same day...
