Amazing tool for the "organizationally challenged"!!

I cannot say enough good things about this book! It is a basic, step-by-step plan to get every aspect of daily homeschooling life and household responsibilities into order. There is so much sound, biblical encouragement, as well. This isn't another "too good to be true, quick fix" organizational guide. Teri Maxwell is a realistic, "been there, DOING that" homeschooling mother who doesn't sugar coat the effort it takes to get a home and family in order. I highly recommend this book and several other books by the Maxwells that fall right in line with this one. I keep this book handy to refer back to as needed in the process of managing my home.

I decided to buy this book because I was tired of being stressed out all the time. As a mother of 5, my list of to-do's is endless. Trying to squeeze it all into 24 hours was just impossible, at least inside my head. This book helped me realize that EVERYTHING doesn't have to be done EVERYDAY. By scheduling and then allowing time for other things that I myself really like to do, life is much calmer at our house. I don't feel like a prisoner in my own home. I am learning how to let God take control and rely on Him instead of stressing myself out over things that really don't matter. So if your life is hectic and you want to get back on track, this is a great starting point.Full of great ideas to get your family life back on track.

This book is sooo practical. So easy to apply. What a wonderful way to bring organization and order to our homes. I highly recommend this book to any moms that feel like they just don't have a "grip" on their day, home, life, etc.

A God Send! Great for making me a better steward of the time God has given me. For those compulsive obcessive and control freaks, you will want to intentionally give yourself much more grace in your schedule than suggested and in the examples though. Release YOUR schedule to God. I'm definitely a MARTHA person, so I have intentionally scheduled alot of MARY time--meaningful quality one on one times with hubby and kids. I'm much more likely to get the laundry DONE completely, not just washed and left in the dryer or clothes basket, but DONE, if I SCHEDULE it! We are getting ready to work on the MANAGERS OF THEIR CHORES next. This is VERY DOABLE ---it just needs to be tweaked and custom for your family, activities, etc. It does take self discipline and consistency---my weakest links. But my strength is in the Lord Alone!

  Helpful to Only a Few

The book has several short chapters that give some tips on scheduling various activities of home life (school, chores, kitchen, and babies). This book is especially geared toward those who homeschool. This book will not help you become organized but rather to put together a schedule of your prioritized daily tasks. I recommend this book but definitely not at the $25 new price since it is only somewhat useful.

Personally, this book did not help me whatsoever. I am already a very routine, schedule oriented person; and I can easily put together a charted schedule. My problem is that I daily try to accomplish 28 hours of work in only 24. There is no book that can help me with that! I just need to learn to say "no" to the lesser priorities or to lessen their frequency.

If you are already good at putting together a schedule this book is not for you. If you do not at all like to follow a schedule or do not enjoy following a list, this book is not for you. This book is for those who enjoy following a schedule but have no clue how to put one together.

I love the book, I wanted to get it off the authors site but it was more than I was able to spend so I was excited to find a copy on Ebay.
