Sketchy British comedy...

A sketch comedy show that's not a sketch comedy show? It sounds like Seinfeld's pitch about "a show about nothing" but that's exactly what this is.
Man Stroke Woman is a sketch comedy show that breaks from the Saturday Night Live / Mad TV mold. It's not set on a sound stage, instead being filmed in real world settings. There's no laugh track, no outlandish costumes, and the scenes change rapid fire with no let up and no prolonged scene set ups. It eschews the wacky "wild and crazy guys" formula that becomes cliche' instead focusing on the absurdity of real relationships and characters that could easily exist just around the corner.
There are a few recurring characters and sketches which don't exactly hit the bullseye. And with only 6 episodes it seems a bit short for a "series". But those are minor drawbacks when compared to the outstanding writing, delivery, and production value of the series.
Developed by Ash Attalah who is responsible for the Office, and starring a wonderful cast including Nick Frost. It really is a gem.
