Mamma Mia! (DVD, 2009, Full Frame)

If you love music and movies as much as I do, you should love to watch this movie over and over again.

The legendary ABBA music is great. The story line is great. The acting is great. Meryl Streep is fantastic. If reminds me so much of good times in my life.
Clearly, Meryl Streep Finally found a movie that actually matched her real personality. After all these years in Hollywood raising her 3 children and being a wonderful wife and husband, she deserves to feel good about herself.

The 3 Man Dilemma in the film is really cute yet untypical by any stretch of the means. Totally "Love Boat"-ish at times but the fun and feel-good way outshines the rest of its faults.

Don't miss this movie for any reason.

This movie couldn't have a better cast of actors/actresses! Meryl Streep as the mother Donna, shows her true self having fun while balancing the emotional aspect of the story. Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth & Stellan Skarsgard couldn't have portrayed a better cast of the, "Fathers!" Not to mention Amanda Seyfried as the ever so excited, yet calm & emotional Sophie! Christine Baranski & Julie Walters (the Dynamos-Donna's best friends & girl group), top it all off making it an absolute delight! We have seen the musical onstage. No comparison to this movie! Being big Abba fans, we went to see the musical. We were disappointed in it. We went to see this movie in the theater thinking we wouldn't enjoy it because we didn't enjoy the musical all that much except for the music. Boy, were we wrong! After seeing this movie with the great cast, it is no doubt one of our very favorites! You follow the actors/actresses & their emotions, yet remembering your own experiences & time with Abba music. This movie is an absolute JOY & a MUST for every Abba fan!

Meryl Streep (Rendition, The Devil Wears Prada and many more) gives a wonderful performance as Donna, who along with her daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) run a rundown island inn.

Sophie is about to be married and wants her father, whom she has never met, and is not sure who he is, to give her away at the wedding. So Sophie invites all three of her mothers old flames (Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, and Stellan Skarsgard) to the wedding.

Reunions, good and bad follow when the three gents are re-introduced to Donna.

The entire movie is set to the music of ABBA from the 1970s and is full of musical numbers that are very well written and play right into the theme of the movie.

What I liked best is that Meryl Streep, who actually sings (Who knew she could sing?), really seemed to enjoy the role she was playing and the fun she was having was quite contagious.

This was a very enjoyable movie that I will gladly watch again.

Rated 5 of 5 for a wonderful story line and great acting and singing.

This movie is one for the entire family (With a few sexual references that may not be suitable for younger audiences).

I LOVED this show and saw it four times in the theatre. Not only is it enjoyable and the music great, it makes a clear statement that there IS life after fifty! It was an epiphany for me and my life is not the same as it was before I saw it. No fake!!

Let me just say I loved this movie!!It starts out with Sophie(Amanda Syefried)on a desperate search to find her father BEFORE her wedding so he can walk her down the aisle!!Much to her surprise,she has THREE to choose from!!Harry,Sam,and Bill!!Stellan Skarsgard,Colin Firth,And Pierce Brosnan all deliver stellar performances!!They each think THEY are daddy!!!Mom Donna(Streep)has her own agenda;to make Sophie's wedding one to never forget and maybe find her own man with a little money in the process.Her two best friends and old band mates(Baranski and Julie Walters)are hilarious and offer plenty of comedic relief in this gem sure to please all members of the family.It is a musical,but the songs from Abba,are ones we all remember and love!!So get up and dance and sing to this awesome family movie tonight!Oh Mamma Mia!!

For those who love ABBA, you'll love this movie. It even includes a sing-a-long version so everyone can join in on your favourite ABBA songs.

I didn't realise how many ABBA songs I actually knew. You can't help but to feel the joy when the cast break out into another ABBA rendition.

While the movie is quite fun to watch, the singing done by the cast is a bit amateurish and at times a little cabaret.

The story is quite easy to follow although I could help but feel like there was alot of the story left out in order to keep it to movie length.

Overall, not a bad movie and worth watching at least once even if it's only to sing-a-long. I give it a rating of 7/10.

Always in complete awe over Meryl Streep and her in credible abilities. This film was full of everything anyone could want in a film INCLUDING men! The visuals were incredible, the honesty, the mother and daughter bond and closeness is what we all wish for with our moms. I put this film up there with The Ya Ya Sisterhood of intense and incredible mother daughter relationships and all who become a part of them, who make them possible. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS FILM.
The fact that musicals are becoming a part of mainstream again is PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Music is really good. Acting of Meryl Streep always good as usual. Her singing not bad either. Scenery of Greece fantastic. Songs not easy to forget especially with the added feature of the words on screen to sing along. Very entertaining film. Saw the musical on Broadway. Like this much better.

My grand daughters birthday was coming soon and all she talked about was the movie Mama Mia. So, I looked it up on ebay...found a great seller and had it shipped directly to my grand daughters house. I arrived on her birthday and she was thrilled. The movie was brand new in the wrapper and the shipping was fast.

This item arrived just as described. Brand new, and still in it's original shrink wrap. It's a great movie full of laughs and catchy music. It's even full screen, which is harder and harder to come by these days. Overall, great deal and product!

My granddaughters didn't think it lame and all of us enjoyed the music although did not know Pearce Brosnan could sing.

All the Actors in this Movie (Mamma Mia) are Fantastic. It is a down to Earth Musical. I Loved it! I would watch it over, and over again.

This is a great movie, my three year old daughter loves it! My 15 month old enjoys all the music, and I don't mind it as well ;).
