Mamma Mia! (Blu-ray Disc, 2008)

If you love music and movies as much as I do, you should love to watch this movie over and over again.

The music is great. The story line is great. The acting is great.

Meryl Streep is fantastic in anything she's done, but this makes me feel so good about her as a person, mother, and actress. It reminds me so much of good times in my life.

Don't miss this movie for any reason.

Meryl Streep (Rendition, The Devil Wears Prada and many more) gives a wonderful performance as Donna, who along with her daughter Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) run a rundown island inn.

Sophie is about to be married and wants her father, whom she has never met, and is not sure who he is, to give her away at the wedding. So Sophie invites all three of her mothers old flames (Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, and Stellan Skarsgard) to the wedding.

Reunions, good and bad follow when the three gents are re-introduced to Donna.

The entire movie is set to the music of ABBA from the 1970s and is full of musical numbers that are very well written and play right into the theme of the movie.

What I liked best is that Meryl Streep, who actually sings (Who knew she could sing?), really seemed to enjoy the role she was playing and the fun she was having was quite contagious.

This was a very enjoyable movie that I will gladly watch again.

Rated 5 of 5 for a wonderful story line and great acting and singing.

This movie is one for the entire family (With a few sexual references that may not be suitable for younger audiences).

My wife loves this movie. She loves it in HD. She loves it SD. She will love it in whatever new format is coming.

I loved the stage show, but the movie brings it to life. Songs woven into the story very good. A joy to watch as actors fit the part.

Only plays occassionally. Sometimes it will sometimes it won't. But the service was excellent and I received the product speedily.

I loved Mamma Mia when I had it on DVD. Now that I have it on Blu-Ray, it's great all over again! Defiantly worth a look.

It's a great family movie. Not only for kids and teenagers. Adults love it,too. The characters are funny and we couldn't believe how perfect the words in the songs fitted in with all of the scenes. The island and all the settings are so beautiful. It's the kind of movie you want to play loud, sing along and watch over and over again!!!

After purchasing a new blue ray dvd player at a local store , and then went to purchase a blue ray disc, I couldn'r believe the prices of the blue ray discs in the stores, outrageous! So I checked e-Bay and found what I was looking for... a "Mamma Mia" Blue Ray disc at a great price! I was very satisfied, and now I purchase all my dvd's on e-Bay! A great item at a great price!

I love this movie and purchased it on DVD when first released. Since I now have a Blu-ray player, I wanted it on Blu-ray. It is even better on Blu-ray. The clarity is exceptional and the sound is spectacular.

Total chick flic. It was kinda painfull to watch. I kept hopeing Peirce Bronsen would pull out his 007 walther and shoot everyone! but my fiancee likes it!

I am not the type of person who likes musicals.... But, I found this to be different than all the other musicals I have seen... I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who wants to laugh, cry, or just watch a good flick!!!!

I NEVER RECEIVED THIS ITEM from seller on eBay. I liked the movie so I wanted the disk in my collection.

What you have is a easy listening musical on screen w/ actors that can't sing Broadway quality music, except maybe for Amanda Seyfried who seems to stand out among the cast. Scenery and colors combine to make this visual experience a very entertaining (even memorable) show, considering how many of us might feel exalted or soothed because of some nostalgic "something" about our life when good sound of the past is reproduced again. I give it 4 stars (a high 4 stars) bc singing by aged voices (except maybe for the versatile Meryl Streep) will not cut this movie into a complete A++ recommendation. Nevertheless, in light of the dynamics of it, there is no place in this movie that I call dull, for Abba music is immortal when put to work. If I have to see this movie again and again, I would. And since I have not been to Broadway ... for me this is a near excellent (particularly in Blu-ray). You'd probably not regret buying this DVD, as music would be probably retained in your ears after the movie ends. Kudos! Amanda Seyfried and company... but only for those w/ non-Broadway type of standards.

What I loved is that you could watch it with your Daughter or Grandaughter and act like a nut if you want. Very entertaining and the photography is magnificent.

Albeit rather hokey, you can't help but not smile from ear to ear when watching this movie. The music is so catchy and familiar that you can overlook the lack of singing ability of such actors as Pierce Brosnan. The stage production is SO good and this was a decent film adaption of it. I highly recommend seeing the stage production if you get the chance. Wow!

The acting is superb, the singing is glorious, the spirit of the movie raises your spirits. Beautiful locations, excellent direction and a warm-hearted, well-written story. Whats not to love!

It's like a modern 'Grease' style of movie/musical. The setting in Greece is absolutely gorgeous. It's a playful story and the actress' and actors do an absolute wonderful incredible job.
