I love the CD! Being a fan of Mama Cass Elliott's original group, "The Mamas and the Papas," I always thought and knew that she was the real vocal star of that group! I owned this CD in an LP format years ago but now had nothing to play it on; I was thrilled to find it in a brand-new CD format on ebay and bought it right away! It contains twelve singles that Cass Elliott took to the top of the charts as solo performances ,even though other group members performed backup on a couple of the song choices. Of course, "Mama's Big Ones" was a slight takeoff on the size of this incredible vocalist, added with the fact that these were singles she recorded and took to the top on her own; very few people know just how much of a single recording star she became, acting in variety shows and performing solo acts all over the world. This incredible collection begins with the upbeat "It's Getting Better" and continues with the emotion-packed "Make Your Own Kind of Music" and "The Good Times Are Coming." Each song will have you singing along with Cass in no time, whether the hits are new to you or you are a "new" fan of this incredible singer, whose life ended too soon for the musical world. What she gave us in her short time on earth is fully documented by the hits on this one-of-a-kind CD and I encourage you to buy it, sixties-pop fan or not...........occasionally, songs recorded by Mama Cass Elliott are still used as soundtrack hits in current movies..........the legendary singer lives on! Buy "Mama's Big Ones" and you will not regret the purchase at all and will become a diehard fan immediately. Moving, emotional, fun and heartwrenching, these are the songs of a lost generation. Thankfully, the songs were not lost!
