When Mama Comes Home Tonight by Eileen Spinelli (2002)

This book has been a part of my daycare library for about a year now, and is one of the ones I use often when getting the kids settled in for nap or rest time.
Possibly written for the child who is having a bit of separation anxiety, this book gently reminds a child that Mama will be back, and will do fun, loving activities as always when she comes home tonight. Playing, dancing, and cleaning up toys are some of the things that Mama takes time to do with her beloved child, all a gentle reminder that Mama will do those things with "ME" tonight, too!
The illustrations, while old fashioned, are soft and soothing, and the kids can relate well to the mother's loving touch on her child upon returning home.
Definitely a book to keep in mind for times when a child might need some loving reassurance that Mama still loves him/her and will return, When Mama Comes Home Tonight would be a worthy addition to your home, daycare, or preschool lilbrary.
Thank you for reading my review, and I hope it helps you determine whether this book is right for you!
