Makita 9.6 Volt Cordless Drill/Driver feels right
Ok, so the 9.6v Makita is old technology. It's not the most powerful or lomgest lasting. The NiCad batteries don't deliver as much as the later NMH or LiIon. The tools handle well in tight situations and how often does that happen? ...All the time. It is balanced well without the large battery pack on the handle. ...Ok so it makes a great place to set the new ones down...
My first Makita Driver-Drill still works well while over 20 years old. It has built deck, installed sheetmetal roofs drilled countless holes, buffed alloy wheels, and I am still buying additional similar tools to add to my collection so my driver-drill doesn't have to do all the work. I'll be handing them down to my boys as they find a use for them and I no longer need them. ...They will stay all in the family.
