Had a baby ~8 months ago and was trying to shed the last "few" pounds. Up until this point, I wasn't really doing anything to help get the weight off, so I figured I would give it a try. I was a bit skeptical at first, but figured what do I have to lose?! So, I ordered the book and read it the same day (quick read). Jillian did an awesome job explaining her reasoning for why we can't lose the weight and why her method will work. I started the program just shy of 2 weeks ago. I am restricted to 1,400 cal/day, but surprisingly do not feel hungry. As a busy working mom, I will admit that I don't completely follow her exercise regimen, but do ride the semi-recumbent bike 3-4X/wk. Within 1 week, I had lost 6 pounds and at present (just shy of 2 weeks), I have been able to comfortably get into my size 6 pre-pregnancy slacks without having to squeeze!!

I joke with my husband that my goal is to be the same weight I was in high school. At the rate I'm going with this diet, it may actually happen!!

Absolutely LOVE the book and highly recommend it to other that need to lose a "few" pounds.

I brought this book because I had been working out to Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD and I wanted to get more details about how I should be eating. This book was very detailed and brought out a lot facts about my body that I did not know. I love the fact that there are recipes as well as exersises in the book as well. Some of the meals seemed a little unrealistic to me, but I did enjoy all the details that were provided. It is a very helpful book.

Excellent, exactly what I was looking for. All the examples for exercising are well thought out and current as to what is really effective for today's serious weight lifting. The meals are good, not great. Some are fairly easy to prepare. It was harder to find the items that she listed is some health food stores. But all in all I thought it is a very good book and I would reccommend it to anyone interested in serious weight training.

It is an EXCELLENT book. Very easy to read. It feels like she is talking to YOU not at you. Her MEALS were not for the "average" folks but you could "tweak" them without a huge change in calories/fat/carbs. As with ANY diet/health book, we all KNOW what we should do and eat, it is a matter of doing it. Most people do it for 2-3 days and give up. If you fall off the horse, brush yourself off, put on your hat, and get back on. Being healthly is a lifelong choice and she does tell you how to get rid of the last 10 pounds but you have to be hard on yourself. They are not going to just go away. If you stick with her book she will get those last 10 pounds gone, it is just a matter of sticking with it.

I read a lot of nutrition and health books, after skimming the book it seems to be a great book to help you focus on getting you ready for a specific event, a wedding, reunion, pageant, or some other special night out, or beach vacation. At first glance it is not about long term weight loss but more about dropping those last 20-30 pounds. and I probably would not recommend following the plan for a long term answer. but I think it seemed very good for motivating someone through the last few pounds and getting them "party ready" I look forward to getting the book read and really getting started.

Jillian is a no nonsense gal who tells it like it is. I love her 'shut up and just do it' attitude on the biggest loser so much that I have purchased her books and videos! This book is full of awesome recipes, but the most important to me, was she gives you 30 days worth of menus! No more trying to plan your day around what you are supposed to eat! Now, it's as simple as looking at her menu every morning, knowing what you are going to have to eat, and going on about your day. That simple! Finally, something that I can stick to! About time!

This is the book for you who have been working out for some time, but can`t seem to drop those last few stubborn pounds. Jillian is just as tough as always, so prepare to sweat! The book contains complete menus and workout programs for a 30-day shed, and loads of tips, motivation and tests.

Absolutely recommended for those who are willing to Make the cut!

This is not for the starter to fitness. This is a great guide to change up a dull routine and get FANTASTIC results if you are not a wimp!!!!! Jillian ROCKS she is one of the few trainers that understands what commitment to making your goals are about. Most trainers would rather "soft sell" what you must do to get and MAINTAIN a life of fitness. Jillian keep strong we all love ya! QueenBee.Couture

Book was in excellent condition upon arrival. It is exactly what I was looking for: a 30 day, broken down work out plan. I hadn't previously read the book, so I didn't know what to expect. Aside from the diet that is 1/3 of the book, I feel like it is a very useful work out tool. One last note: it is an enjoyable and informative read.

I have been an advid fan of the show "The Biggest Loser." Jillian gives you all the tips, on how to succeed in weight loss! There are easy healthy recipes to follow, to ensure you make the right eating choices everyday. She is a great motivator! I recommend this book for a much happier, healthier, lifestyle change!

I personally don't like fish or many salad dressings, so I was disappointed to see that this book contained recipies for a lot of both. However, the workouts that she puts together are excellent.

Great tips, easy to read and it works! Great pics with different moves. Effective workout. Diet hard to follow and not very realistic but informative. Motivating and good tips for mixing up your everyday routine.

This book is easy to understand. It not only gives you specific excercises it gives you stratagies on how to make you waist look smaller by builing your upper body also gives you a complete menu to follow with a shopping list for 30 days. So are have lost 12 lbs and gained alot of definition and feel good.. Also recommends going organic when ever possible .. really makes a difference when you body know what it is you are eating and how to digest... If you are looking to be the biggest loser and lose fat and gain muscle this is the book for you

The book was in great condition when I received it. There were just a little wear and tear, but nothing significant. I have began the workouts. I believe I am on day 8. Let's just say your heart rate is up to max and you are sweating. However, you don't feel exhausted but good and motivated. I was skeptical about this book and its routines, but I am very impressed now that I have read the book and tried the routines!

Her workout plan is tough but good...of course. I'm really noticing a difference in the tone and strength of my body. Each day a new muscle shows itself. Makes me feel pretty darn good about this 36 year-old body!

The recipes aren't as good as her online recipes, but worth a try if you have access to certain items.

Overall DEFINITELY worth the purchase.

I liked the book because it is an easy informative read. Jillian splices fact with humor and i enjoyed reading her book. She seemes to be very knowledgable about fitness and nutrition. Her diet plan is kinda impossible for me to follow so strictly however i did loose 3 lbs by the time i read half the book! I suggest reading it if you are into fitness.

I love the cut and dry facts and plan. However the diet is really strict. If you follow it to the letter for 30 days you WILL lose those last 10-20 lbs. Combine it with the "30-Day-Shred" DVD workout and you will be fit in no time!

If a person needs to lose alot of weight quickly (30 days) then this book is for you. The book is geared towards those individuals you need to lose 20 pounds or less. It is very detailed about what you should eat every meal and specific (difficult) exercises everyday. In my opinion, the book is for the advanced exerciser. You will probably need a gym membership however exercises may be adapted for at home.
