Making a Monster by Al Taylor (1980, Hardcover)

Making a Monster I wrote the book (4 years of research and interviews), and best seller, never went paperback for Ten Years. I needed a few extra copies since, I gave most away. When the book was published we broke film history with Lee Greenaway's THE Thing from Another World make-up photos( before that was only a frame blow-up of James Arness as The Thing). I'd never spend four years of my life doing that again! The book stands on it's own merit, it did my heart good when I discovered one of the new top make-up artists today was inspired by Making a Monster. Most of the best Make-up Artists, stars became great friends ,not associates, and that was worth the price of admission!
