Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin (1997, Hardcover)

I am a beginner in the makeup world. But my dream is to become a professional applying makeup. Before I bought this book, I wasn't sure about how good could it be, because I thought that for teaching makeup techniques maybe a DVD disc could be better.

My opinion totally changed after I read it. This book is amazing and pretty didactic.
Kevyn is a master who gives lots of tricks.

It is fantastic the way the author can describe easy steps to achieve any gorgeous look shown in his book. Absolutely easy "recipes" as you can read in the first page of the book.

This is a wonderful book! Amazing! It has great pictures, tells the techniques, and is just great all around. Of course, Kevyn Aucoin is one of my heroes, so that may prejudice me in a way, but the quality and how it is put together is totally beyond belief! I have bought all but one of his books, and am chomping at the bit for it. This book has total detail of how to do the makeup, and shows you exactly what we are capable of doing with using makeup as an art form. It inspires creativity, and is again, filled with wonderful, beautiful pictures. Easily one of the most beautiful books I have ever seen. I would recommend it to anyone. As a matter of fact, everyone reads it when they come over to the house, and one of my friends has borrowed it, is researching how she wants me to do her makeup for her wedding. Even men pick it up and check it out! It is a wonderful book!!!!!!!!

Ease of purchase, excellent condition. This man was the master of makeup. I use the book to present the world of makeup to my students. I received my purchase in a timely manner and am thrilled with my purchase.

This is a great book. Kevyn Aucoin is a legend. He has made up the most famous faces in the world. This book takes you step by step thru his technique. He shows you how to play up your features in ways no one else could. He explains the use of highlighting and shading to transform your look. This book is for everyone, whether you need a refresher course in makeup or you just started to wear it. I highly recommend this book.

Has very clear easy to understand instructions. Kevin was very talented. A lot of the techniques can be easily updated and incorporated into todays makeup looks. Overall an enjoyable book.
