This is an amazing book and Kevyn Aucoin was a true artist. Not only will this book dazzle you with his sheer brilliance of transforming people into the likeness of others just with make up - but will also give practical tips for everyday people whether it is a daytime look or an evening look. I Highly recommend this book for any diva or fashionista...awesome.

I bought the book because I was looking for it particularly & liked the ad. It's a fabulous book in every way. Perfect condition & awesome pictures, plus loads of amazing useful make-up tips. I bought it for my daughter and she LOVES IT.

great book with great tips. can easily replicate looks. i only wish they covered more looks in medium to darker skin tones..

I really enjoyed the step by step process with illustrations and before & after photos of make up application. This book is great for people just starting out with make up - whether it be a teen or young adult. Its even a great guide for make up artists who are looking to perfect their techniques.

If you're serious about applying makeup, this book is for you. Aucoin gives detailed instructions on how to achieve any makeup look from natural to extremely dramatic!

I really like this book as well as "Face Forward." I recommend this book if you are in the make-up industry or are very interested in make-up.

It took a super long time to get to me, which bothered me. But what bothered me the most is that the description they used was a general description and it said exapmles of what may be wrong with the book. The book didnt have any of those but it was bent almost in half and it didnt say that. I was expecting some damage but not like that. It was the cheapest one so i cant complain to much but just watch out for "general" description wording.

Good book. I recommend it for beginning makeup artists. Some of the personal anecdotes from the author were funny and amusing. Some were a bit dry. This book is filled with makeup look ideas and tips. Over all a nice read for those just getting started in the art of makeup.

I liked it a lot. I have been working as a make up artist. I take a lot of photos myself and Illustrate. I have been studing fashion drawing and thats why I bought the book.

This book was written in deatil by a fantastic makeup artist, Kevin Aucoin. His tips and makeup techniques truely stand up throught the test of time. If you are a new makeup artist or even one that has been around, everyone should read this book. He gives great instructions and it is easy to read. The photos are outstanding. The celebrities that he transforms in some of the photos you can hardly believe your eyes.
I being a makeup artist wanted to review this book that I read many years ago. I really wanted to see how I was doing in comparison to his techniques. I also wanted to know more about period makeup and old hollywood tricks of the trade.
It is very sad that he isn't around today, it would have been great continue to see what he was doing next.

Very good book. I have been looking for books on how to do makeup, and this has been the best book, so far. Gives the info that I wanted on how to apply the makeup, how to do differnt techniques, etc.

can use in make up shows or just know how to do great make up for special occasions. like his work have another book by same make up artist.
