If you plan on making an archtop guitar then this book is for you. Probably the definitive book on building archtop guitars by one of the top guitar luthiers in the world. Actually if your building any acoustic stringed instrument this book would be useful. Although the focus is the archtop guitar much of the material provided is common to flatop guitar, classical guitar, violin, and cello construction too. Written at a level comfortable for beginners and detailed enough for accomplished builders. Nicely arranged and thoughfully prepared with helpful (sorry only black & white) pictures and diagrams. Includes some full size detail plans for the archtop described in the book. I find this book really helpful to me. This book has filled in some gaps that other guitar building books I have either didn't cover or just glossed over. A fine publication worthy of your reference library.

I find this book perfect in every way. It gives important info about building an archtop guitar with very prcise direction. It is guiding me through my first project with little fuss. The diagrams are accurate and the tecno-babble is at a minimum. I can't wait to move on to project number 2
