Great software for beginning patternmaking

This book contains a cd that will print patterns through your home computer and printer. You measure yourself or the person the pattern is for and enter the measurements into the grid. You do have to tape the pattern together, but what you end up with is a custom fit for a basic garment. These garments can then be used to add more or take away seams, depending on what ready made style you are recreating.

I love this book. The patterns included are divine and the instructions are so simple and easy to follow for a beginner like me its wonderfull. Definately a good book for people starting work with patterns.

) I decided to buy this book because it comes with software that you enter your mesurements and the patterns print out in YOUR exact size. I love this book. The styles look outdated but you can just make them your own by the fabrics you choose and adding embelishments. I give this book an A.

DEF recommend this book, for all levels but GREAT for just starting out. CD is VERY helpful and the book's instructions are wonderful! Leaves enough room for the imagination after you've mastered the simple techniques!

Nice for new sewers and to try out pattern softwareI mainly purchased the book to try out the pattern drafting software. It works pretty well. The book and CD are MUCH less expensive than the full version of the software, plus the book has instructions on putting the clothes together which the full version software does not. The book itself is written for those new to sewing, and has a lot of basic information, nicely presented and easy to follow. I doubt if anyone will like ALL of the patterns on the CD, but there's probably at least a couple of things for almost anyone, including a couple of children's patterns. Well worth the purchase price if you want to learn to sew or want to try the pattern software.
