Make-A-Mix Cookery by Karine Eliason (1978)

This is the second time I have owned the Make-a-Mix Cookery cookbook. I have returned to a place in my life where homemade foods just seem the healthier way to go in light of all the additives and preservatives added to packaged foods. I highly recommend this cookbook for anyone who is interested in putting together their own mixes and making foods by scratch. The cookbook encompasses a large array of food choices and is easy to read and easy to follow the instructions.

This book helps you make Mixes like Pancake mixes, etc., by just adding water as the final ingredient... There are Taco mixes, Drink/Tea Mixes etc...A little time making it ahead, saves you, big costs of ready made Name Brand Mixes...And the taste and time saved are equally the same product...Fun for kids to help put together with Mom or Dad,(or Grand Parent) on a weekend project...All ingredients are around the kitchen, or at the grocery store..I purchased a copy for each of my Married Children.. They Loved it!!

I bought this book and More make a mix when discovering that my originals had been lost in my recent move. The recipes are every day use and so helpful to have on hand. Even though I am not cooking for a large family anymore, these recipes are still so helpful. I work from home and don't want to spend a lot of time each day working on meals. By having the different mixes ready I can have healthy, complete meals in a very short time. There are also mixes to make to give for gifts. Every mix I have tried I have liked and would recomend!

It's a useful cookbook. There are newer versions of this cookbook now. You can save money by making your own mixes.

This book is a classic! For a baker it contains all the recipes one needs for creating mixes of all major bakery items, and saving LOTS of money over buying pre-mixed products at the grocery store.
This book was written in 1978, and remains the best available, as evidenced by its continuing popularity on eBay.
Our old copy finally wore out from use, and we needed another!

I had once had a particular cookbook, Make a Mix Cookery, and it had fallen apart on me. I really wanted to get another one so I went to ebay, entered the title, and, before I knew it, I found several copies. I chose one that was well described, bid on it, and won the bid. I paid right away (by PayPal, of course) and received it within a week. I am using it and am thrilled. I live in a very small rural town, so having easy access to much wanted/needed items is wonderful for me. Keep up the good work, ebay.

I love the idea for low cost and budget meal planning that makes more than one meal at a time ,quick and easy when you are in a hurry. I dislike the part they need to make or mix ideas or find more recipes or ideas to go with the mixes. I love these types of books .

I purchased my first Make-A-Mix Cookbook back in 1978. It is in tatters because I used it all the time. I am so happy to have a newer copy because it has many outstanding recipes, but it also a memory to a time when I used it ALL the time. I have four children and used the quick mix almost every day to make biscuits, pancakes, cookies, etc. I LOVE this book and always have. Since there aren't too many people who seem to be interested in coooking and baking, it was SO nice to have a wonderful copy that I can pass on to my offspring. I also bought a copy for a dear friend of mine who has an interest in cooking and baking from scratch. This book is wonderful for those of us who are conscious of what we put into our mouths without using preservatives and additives. I cannot rave about it enough! For all who buy it, ENJOY!
