Although he is best known for his speed and base-stealing ability, the Mets' Jose Reyes is also one of the most well-rounded players in the game and is the first player in baseball history to have more than 63 steals, 120 runs, 192 hits, and 19 homers in a single season. Reyes led the Major League in 2006 with 17 triples and 64 stolen bases and set a new Mets club record with 104 hits at Shea Stadium. Also an avid video gamer and long time fan of 2K Sports’ products, All-Star Shortstop Jose Reyes is a natural fit as the official spokesperson for this year's edition of the critically acclaimed Major League Baseball 2K series. I like the way the developers add things each year to the 2k series. My problem is the game isn't that fun because it's baseball. It's slow and predictable and just doesn't have enough options besides learning how to pitch and hit correctly. Other variations that occur in real life aren't a part of the game and once I learned how to hit, I can't lose to computer anymore. Fun game though and I like playing with friends a lot.
I’m sure you've seen various 'free' gift scams on the Internet, but the following offers are NOT scams in any way, shape or form. This method has been covered by respectable sources such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox, Wired and G4. The reason these companies make money, is because most people don't bother getting all the referrals. All you have to do is post it on eBay. They use us as advertisement by word of mouth which saves them tons of money that goes toward yours and my free gift.
There are many well known legitimate offers to choose from such as Blockbuster online, Stamp.com, Gamefly which are services you would regularly sign up for anyways and their all secure networks, why not use them to get a free PS3 or cash (I did the Stamps.com for a 30 day free trial and it never cost me a penny and I received credit for it the same day). Look at the offers and choose the one that works for you. After signing up and completing your one offer, simply refer a few people (depending on the FREE prize you choose) to do the same under your link. Step 1: Click this link http://www.YourPS34free.com/index.php?ref=4991526 Step 2: Sign up and chose an account type (Referral is the easiest and best). Step 3: Complete just 1 free trial offer (like Stamps.com, You will start a trial and can cancel it right after with no charge at all.) Step 4: Refer to people to do the same. Just do what I’m doing and use eBay. Step 5: Receive your PS3 for FREE!

Hopefully this baseball game will be better than the mlb08. I have played the mlb08 and their is a minor glitch in the game when the player goes for foul ball half of his leg seems to disapear from the mound. I should contact the producer of the game and tell him about the graphics problem.
I've always enjoyed the 2k franchise of sports games over the years. 2k8 Baseball has some improvements over 2k7. Graphics are very good. Realistic moments such as balls hit back to/at pitcher and bounces and hops off of fielders are evident. Crowd reaction to foul balls needs improvement. There are some glitches but not enough for me to turn away from the 2k Series.
this game is fairly decent. I would say for baseball games of the times you wont find better since the EA franchise was taken down. The game has great graphics and fun and challenging gameplay. There are TONS of gliches in the game that take away from the realism and can definitely cause some anger among its players. Overall though the game is entertaining and if you love baseball I would say this is your only option for a 2008 title!!!
This is a good baseball game, looks real, but there is still room for improvement. I really like the new skilled control pitching. The improvement could be used when fielding, it would be nice to have more control over the player that is really making the play. The A leagues are pretty good, but for my opinion is too much. Great game, enjoy playing it and playing with other that it is what it counts, that you like it.
It is a pretty good game. It is very similar to the other 2k baseball games that I purchased for PS2 in the past. I do not see much improvement over those. The thing that I dislike about it is that when making trades it is almost impossible to see the name and stats of the players because they are so small (and I am playing on a 46 in. TV) Overall, an average game.
I have to say I was disappionted by the change in the controls. Pitching and hitting in this game are extreamly difficult and there is a strike 3 glitch where your catcher misses the catch on strike three and this causes alot of base runners for the other team. Over all I give this game an A for graphics and features but a D for gameplay and overall fun.
Like MLB 08 better...Jumping from one game to another...2K8 was hard to adjust but its a good game. The graphics are very good. The game modes give the player lots of different options for gameplay.
I had 2k7 last year and have 2k8 for this year, and I must say the game has improved but not a huge jump over last year.
Franchise mode is fun-lots of Minor League Players and its fun to build your team into a great one.
Pitching is tougher and takes a little playing to get down, but its more fun to pitch, than to hurry up so you can bat again. Fast balls and Changeup are easy to learn, it may take you a bit to learn breaking balls and sliders. For the most part the mechanics are accurate and the player does what you want them to do. Throwing is also controlled by the R Stick and is more like throwing in the Majors.
The Flaws--- Sometime your game will freeze, Save often in franchise mode The fonts are too small on stats and menus...unless you have a huge TV The graphics are Good at best. The crowd is not as detailed as 2k8 Basketball. The annoucers/commentary is about the same as last year. There is lots of talk about "the frame rate" of the game not being too good. (The camera may shutter a bit when throwing from third to first-or between batters) If you play a lot of games you'll probably notice this and it may bother you. If you don't play games too much, this is not an issue-you probably won't even notice.
Even with the flaws, if you like baseball you're probably going to enjoy playing the game. If you like playing on-line you may want to make sure the online is smooth and glitch free before you buy.
Overall Grade: B
If your a casual gamer, I think you will be able to look past the flaws in the game and gets lots of replay value from it. If you play and expect alot from games...you may want to skip this title.
