The Magnificent Seven

Fed up with being brutalized and impoverished because of outlaw
raids on their village by a merciless outlaw leader - played by
Eli Wallach ( The Holiday, The Hunter, The Misfits, Genghis Khan,
etc), the besieged citizens of a small Mexican town hire seven
American gunslingers to stave off the marauders once and for all.
Yul Brynner (Westworld, Catlou, Cast a Giant Shadow, The King and
I, etc) leads the band of mercenaries which includes several other
big stars of the time or of later years including Steven McQueen
(Tom Horn, The Great Escape, Bullitt, The Sand Pebbles, etc);
Charles Bronson (Breakheart Pass, Death Wish, Mr. Majestyk, The
Mechanic, etc); James Coburn and Robert Vaughn. The seven mercenaries
make bullets and powder the reward for the bandits when they enter
the town and action and adventure movie lovers will enjoy the fight
and shooting scenes as well as the planning that goes on to meet the
attack by the bandits. This movie was nominated for an academy award
in 1960 for Best Movie and Best Actor--and the movie has long ago
gained classic western status. Most Western lover will certainly enjoy
this one a great deal and will get a full night of entertainment out
of it--even if you have saw it before.
