Magnificent Mind at Any Age by Daniel G. Amen

The book illustrates Daniel Amen's revolutionary approach to psychiatry. It deals with the underlying physical conditions in ADD, depression, Alzheimer's, substance abuse, etc. Dr. Amen does not use the terms normal or abnormal when speaking about mental illness. Rather, he talks about the healthy versus the unhealthy brain and uses SPECT imaging when treating his patients. The SPECT images in this book are amazing. A healthy brain is shown beside a brain with one of many types of psychiatric conditions,i.e. an unhealthy brain. The result is dramatic. He gives commonsense approaches to healing and such as supplements or vitamins that you can get without a prescription, nutrition tips, etc. I encourage everyone to read this book. It shows mental illness as a physical illness and gives steps on how to cure an unhealthy brain.
