Magical Herbalism by Scott Cunningham (1983, Paperback)

The book is a really great example of Scott Cunningham's work. Lots of great information and ideas. I can honestly say i dislike paperbacks.I would so much prefer hardcovers, but most of the books of this like are paperback so i dont hold it against the book. I decided to buy this book for several reasons. The first reason is that buy every book i can get my hands on about herbs or herbalism. Secondly i bought this book because it was by Scott Cunningham. I have several of his books, and i find that each of them was easily worth the money. This book covers everything from the standard tools used by an herbalist to how to cultivate, harvest, and dry herb. And of course there are lots of recipes and concoctions for you to try. They even go as far as giving you a list of standard start up herbs that are used in most recipes. I could go on and on, but all i can say is if you are the least bit interested in herbs or herbalism for any reason, this is a wonderful reference book that is a must in your library.

Magical Herbalism is a must on the shelves of anyone who longs to learn herbal health and knowledge of herbs.This is the book for magical amulets, charms, energies, etc. The craft at hand and mind blending the spirit to become one with the natural world.

Scott Cunninghams writings come highly recommended in the world of herbalism in the craft and outside of it. The coverage of making oils, potions and lotions for everyday.

I purchased this book to begin my study as an herbalist. The plain and true explanations make learning the basics easy, fun and reliable. Step by step guidance to preparation of herbs and their compounds in incenses and oils, sachets, amulets and infusions are fun to follow and are invaluable.

I recommend this for the shelves of everyone who loves nature.

In an attempt to further my experience in using herbs, I purchased "Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs" which led me to purchase "Magical Herbalism: The Secret Craft of the Wise". "Magical Herbalism..." is the perfect beginning to anyone's study of herbs used for magick workings because Cunningham's colloquial language and vigor toward the subject makes it difficult not to approach Magickal Herbalism with the same passion.
I finally decided to purchase this particular book on the subject because Scott Cunningham is credited with bringing herbal remedies into a modern magickal world--which is reason enough to buy this book!

This book is a total information highway to those that are just starting out working with herbs. It is concise, well written and easily read. It is full of all the information one could want regarding the origin, medicinal and magickal use of herbs throughout time. A must read for anyone interested and wanting to know how to use herbs. Very insightful!

An excellent reference to have on one's shelf for magickal uses. An easy read for the beginner herbalist, with descriptive terms, well thought out format,references, and an excellent book to refer to when needed. Scott Cunningham's literary books are a definite must have for any practicing pagan/wiccan or one's other choice path dealing with magick,herbs, and old religion ways.
