Synopsis
A picture book retelling of a Japanese folktale. A poor farmer traveling to a religious shrine stops during his journey to help a maiden being held captive by the evil Black Swamp Lord. She begs the farmer to deliver a letter to her parents who live in the Red Swamp, a dangerous place from which no mortal person has ever returned.
