GPS can save your life!

After researching various GPS systems, I decided to purchase the Magellan explorist 210 with bundle. I do a fair amount of hiking, and I must say, I have gotten lost to the point of panic. Thanks to answered prayer, I'm hear to testify that conventional wisdom would recommend that mountain bikers, hikers (especially distance wilderness hikers)and backpackers do not leave home without a navigational aid other than a map.
This tool gives you topographical trails and landscapes that you upload from included software. The software alone is about $100 plus you get a clip holster and a car charger. The additional cost is about $30 for the bundle pack. The 210 doesn't have a color screen, but I haven't found it necessary on my hikes. It does have 22 MB capacity for lots of info, and comes with many features and options internally that I haven't even used yet. One feature that I especially appreciate is the backtrack option. It keeps you on the trail +/- 10 feet if you need to retrace your steps to your starting point. Pretty tough to get lost that way! Battery power lasts up to 14 hours. It also has an orange backlight for low light conditions. It is small enough to not get in the way, yet large enough to easily read the screen. A well priced item for the value, on screen details, and peace of mind it delivers.
