Magellan RoadMate 2200T Car GPS Receiver

The Magellan 2200T GPS unit is the best unit I've seen. I have a Volvo with an $1,800 built-in GPS system which doesn't hold a candle to this little Magellan, either in accuracy or in graphics. It is absolutely great. I don't care that it doesn't have some of the useless bells and whistles that many more expensive units have; all I need it for is guidance, and it does that superbly. The only criticism I have is that when you have it hooked into your car, it automatically turns on whenever you turn on the ignition, but it doesn't turn off when you turn off the ignition. This means that in order to preserve the batery charge, you need to remember to turn it off manually.

I loved how it worked the first few times but then ibecame a complete waste of time entering the demo mode on its own and could not diable the simulator mode even after getting help from Magellan technicians. There final answer to upgrade on the customer loyalty program or to buy the new map and download the new version with no guarantee that the new version would work.

This GPS works fine, it is refubished and did not come with an instruction manual, so I am slowly figuring out how to use it, the menu helps alot. The maps on it are old, but you can update them for a price. I bought this because of the price and I have read in several places that Magellan seems to hold up better than some of the other brands.

The magellan roadmate is a great gps!!! It can tell you where stores are shopping malls amusment parks and parks. It has been very good and has about a 4 hour battery life then it will need to be charged again. over all I would give it a B+ rateing. and the only reason this is because when i went to my sister house we were going to chuckey cheese and were going to city we have never been to and on the way there it got us lost. It said to turn off an exit that we should of not turned off at but re rerouted it and it did get us there LOL

After researching GPS's under $100, I bought a used T2200 and have been VERY happy with it. For $75.... I don't think I could ask for more. I read many bad reviews that unfairly criticized some of the features. No, it does NOT give you CITY names on the map, but if you don't know what town you are in or near, you need more than a GPS. No, you cannot play MP3's while navigating... BIG DEAL ... it's a GPS. Of course ALL GPS's occasionally suggest a bad or wrong route or mislabel a street or two... GET OVER IT! Although the data on this GPS is about 3 years old.... it AMAZES me how much IS accurate.
It gathers satellite data even indoors! It speaks street names! Rerouting is fast! Automatic night-mode is wonderful! Get co-ordinates off Google Earth and enter all the POI's you could ever need. LONG battery life! This is a GREAT GPS!!!

LOVE this - never get lost again, you can plan trips and get turn by turn directions - very accurate and easy to use~

I found the unit easy to use, and provided great features that my previous gps did not have like reroute function and category search.

I absolutely love this GPS! It tells me what time I'll be getting to my destination!
I dont like it that at times it makes me go the longest way however; if you dont know where you're going, it's still worth it!! LOL
I recommend everyone to buy a GPS if they're as illeterate as me when it comes to Maps...LOL

It is easy to use. The price was right. I have used it frequently since I got it. It will triangulate you destination even if you divert off course. I love it.
