Madea's Family Reunion Is Good, but not Tyler's best
I love Tyler Perry's Madea character. Madea is a tough cookie with a heart of gold, who doesn't let anyone take advantage of her. She tells it like it is. All of Perry's movies with Madea have a hard line story (in this case, a double-theme of an abusive man and a mother who has let her daughters be abused to further her own interests), as well as another story of Christian redemption (good, hardworking, Christian, young black man meets a woman with trust issues and wins her over). This is probably the weakest in the series. Diary of a Mad Black Woman is good, and Madea goes to jail is excellent. Still, the Madea story-line was very heart warming in this movie. The judge makes Madea take in a foster child in order to avoid going to jail. In true Madea fashion, she takes the girl under her wing and builds the girl's self-confidence. All in all, a good movie. Who can resist Madea?
