Made for Each Other (DVD)

Then this is the movie for you, especially if you love schmaltz. Schmaltz, schmaltz! This movie has so much of it they should have canned it. Oh that's right they did! They called it Jimmy Stewart, who was the leading man of his time and one heckuva good actor. He had a way of looking at you in that earnest, honest fashion of his that didn't come across as too phony. And of course the camera close ups that were always softened around him put that halo on him every time, in any movie including this one.

He always seemed to play the role of the poor sap that just didn't quite get it, (after all, he rejected the boss's daughter - talk about career path killer!); falls in love with a woman he meets and marries her two days later (okay okay - it IS Carole Lombard - but still!) and of course does his duty by his momma by having her move in with the young newly married couple. Said momma drives the wife crazy with her constant meddling and pity party she holds for herself daily.

Of course when Junior comes along, the heat is turned up on this romantic classic - baby gets sick - natch :); they are positive baby is going to die unless he gets a new drug just out for his pneumonia, (of course) and the inevitable obstacles they have to overcome to get the medicine.

But ah well it is a Jimmy Stewart movie after all and we just know things are going to turn out all right, even though we are crying along with Carole and feeling so badly for Jimmy. Jimmy's momma - I could care less about her but the writers of this all time classic love story did try to soften up her image towards the end.

Good entertainment to watch with a loved one and a bowl of popcorn and a box of tissues of an evening.

I'm a huge Jimmy Stewart fan and this DVD is hard to find, that's why I purchased it. The sale went very well, received the DVD quick and it was packaged very well.
