Madagascar (DVD, 2005, Full Frame)

Most adults don't watch cartoons well heres one they need to see.
From the Studio that brought you Shrek and Shark tale comes Madagascar.
This is a fun movie for the hole family. The movie starts out with the Animals all living in the Central Park Zoo in New york and follows there journey to freedom. (Not all of them wanted to leave there Pampered home at the Zoo)
The Six of us all liked this movie very much.From 38 to 5 years old we all enjoyed it. Voices of David Schwimmer,Chris Rock,Ben Stiller and Jada Pinket Smith.
Watch out for the Lemur King (King Julien) he try's to steal the Show.
The kids will want to watch it over an over again!!!!
The DVD also comes with tons of bonus features and a new Penguins Christmas Caper Cartoon.

This movie was cute, and the penguins were hilarious. I loved this movie, although it did seem to go by quickly.

We had seen the movie in the theatre, and decided we wanted it to own in our home. It was actually my husband who wanted to see it again-- not my kids. I think that the best part of this movie was the great message of depending on your friends. It was also nice that the makers of the movie put in a lot of humor for adults that kids usually never pick up on (nothing obscene).

Madagascar is one of the recent crop of animated movies that appeals to adults as well as kids. Admittedly, this is no "Incredibles," but it is still worth renting and watching with the family or friends who enjoy being a "kid" for an hour or two.

Although Ben Stiller (Alex the Lion) and Chris Rock (Marty the Zebra) offer up the lion's share (pun intended) of the dialog, the Penguins win my vote for best delivery. The lead penguin's (Skipper) voice is actually done by Tom McGrath, who co-directed the movie with Eric Darnell. The penguin's "Mission Impossible" meets "Get Smart" antics are sure to make you laugh.

Speaking of laughter, no review of this movie would be complete without an enthusiastic nod to the single funniest character of the movie, King Julien XIII, the Lemur King. King Julien is given voice by Sacha Baron Cohen and his delivery of lines like "All hail the Ney York Giants" and "...I have a new hat, like my hat?" made me laugh hard enough to regret drinking the majority of an extra large coke during the first half of the movie!

This movie has earned the right to become a part of my permanent DVD collection. I wish there was a "Very Good" rating available, because I would use it for this movie if I could!

I was very disappointed with this movie. All the hype made it look so good that we just had to go see it in theatres. This had to be a good movie especially with all the great actors in this one. WRONG! This movie is horrible. It takes about 45 minutes for the movie to get even a little bit entertaining. It is just one sexual adult joke after another. I am surprised at how horrible this movie is and how much attention it is still getting. I do not recommend this movie. Please save your money.

Very well done movie! I rented this from Blockbuster for a week, and I fell in love with this movie. I watched it about 9 times in that week. The next week, I bought it for only $6.00 here on eBay. Even my 3 year old daughter didn't understand it, but she liked the animals! GREAT FAMILY MOVIE, I RECCOMEND IT!

The whole family sat down to watch this movie. I though it was going to be another kids movie/cartoon that I would hate to watch but after the first 15 minutes, I was really into it. The kids really enjoyed, as the wife did too. I highly recommend this movie for anyone. I give it 2 thumbs up.

P.S. The Incredibles is another great family movie. I loved that movie so much I had to buy it so I could watch it a few more times with the family.

It gets funnier every time you watch it! The penguins are THE BEST!! Great movie for adults as well as kids.. both my kids liked it (they are 3 & 1 1/2). I'm buying this one for sure!

From seeing previews i thought this movie looked good and it was as good. at first i felt as the voices for the characters werent unique enough but once the movie got going it really formed into a well done movie. One clip where king julian the lemer and his followers are having a party and he sings i like to move it move it, it was the best part of the movie. It was very comical and enjoyable, it was a very well done movie a must for children and adults alike. It is an overall fun movie which a wide array of personalities, nothing dull about this movie! two thumbs up! Buy it and you will enjoy it!

The movie was entertaining as well as funny. Me & the family really enjoyed the movie.Also recommend the Madagascar & the Penguins in a Christmas Caper.

Madagascar is a great movie for kids. My children loved every scene that was in the movie. The day I got it in the mail, my children watched it over and over until I said enough. We really love this movie. I bought it to keep my 2 boys and their dad entertained for a few hours. It's a great buy.

Great movie. It is funny, clean and great entertainment for the entire family. I got it for a Christmas gift.

As the movie goes along, 1/2 of the time I was just wondering what the pinguins were doing. They were funnier, and with more action than the actual characters. I know they got so much attention, they made more short films based on this characters. I recommend to wach the chrismas short film with this little criters. Still, this is a movie I would like to have for my own collection.

This is one funny movies with great one liners! We are still talking about the movie weeks after seeing it. The voices of Gloria the Hippo, Alex the Lion, Morty the Zebra and Melman the giraffe are unstoppable! This is totally worth the buy!

I purchased the DVD as a birthday gift for my son who was turning 4 the DVD is in excellent condition my son loves it and watches it at least 3x a day. I decided to purchase the DVD through eBay for 2 reasons. #1- I was satisified with all my other purchases through eBay so far and #2- I didn't know if my son would even like the movie and I figure this way if he didn't like it I would only be out of a few bucks, but it turns out that he loves the movie so I got my money's worth and then some.

I PURCHASED THIS MOVIE FOR MY CHILDREN AND THEY LOVE IT...IT'S A GOOD FUNNY MOVIE THAT THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN WATCH.THEY LOVE THE ANIMALS AND HOW THEY CAN TALK .IT'S A MOVIE THAT WASN'T WAY OVER THEIR HEADS AND THEY COULDN'T UNDERSTAND THE PLOT.WE HAVE SEEN SO MANY KIDS MOVIES THAT THEY COULDN'T FOLLOW WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THEY GOT BORED WITH IT WITHIN THE FIRST 15 MINUTES.THIS MOVIE DEFINETLY WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.IT KEEPED THEIR ATTENTION AND THEY REALLY WANTED TO KEEP WATCHING IT.

Great movie and funny as well. I watched it with my family and enjoyed it a lot. The best part is when the main characters are lost in an island and meet the king of the lemurs.

A great movie for all ages. Adults can enjoy the masked humor and the kids will dance along! This will be one kids will want to watch over and over again, and adults will not grow tired of hearing.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. ORDERED IT AND DID NOT RECEIVE IT! I was looking forward to this movie, heard good reviews, ordered it about 2 months ago for my daughter and haven't heard anything since. Again, I am very disappointed.

This is something that you can watch with your kids and laugh out loud. It is a cute story of a zebra that has lived his whole life in a zoo and wants to know what it is like to live in the wild. His friends think he is crazy until he leaves the zoo in search of the wild. His friends, some crazy penguins and a few monkeys also take off but they all get caught. As it turns out, all the animals that escape are sent to a wild life preservation area in Madagascar Africa where they run into some lemurs and the foosa (wild cats) and learn more about the wild. It is just a cute movie!

This story was great and the graphics were terrific ! Fun songs and great celebrtiy voices - all the kids love it. And adults do too !

This is a great movie (animated film) that is great for both adults and children with an all star cast with the voices of Chris Rock as malcontented Mart the Zebra, and David Schwimmer, Ben Stiller and Jada Pinkett Smith as the other characters.

The movie starts out with the Animals all living in New York City Central Park Zoo and from there they journey to the wild, but only one of them wanted to leave their indulged existence at the zoo. Your kids will love it, mine did and I can say they saw it more than once!

The Penguins steal the show with their antics and the DVD has bonus features and the Penguins Christmas Caper Cartoon. Truly a delight!

This is a MUST SEE movie!!!! this movie is an all down right funny movie. this is a great film for all ages. i laughed from the beging to the end. this is a must needed Family night movie. it is about Lion, a Zebra, a hippo and a giraff in the new york zoo. the Zebra would like to go out and venture the world and his friends the Lion, hippo and girraff (which has a germ phobia) try to save him after he escapes from to zoo to the wild. i mean non stop laugh i think that the penguins which seem to be in some type of secretive mafia, or CIA is trying to break out of the zoo to make it back to there home land in antartica like they see on TV. i mean its absolutly incredible funny beyond words best movie of the year in my opinion. if you are looking to just simply laugh you cant help but laugh with this movie. A+++++++++++++++ 3 thumbs up (i barrowed a hand from sombody else).
