Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (PlayStation 2, 2008)

it played very well. kids love the part were you can make the animals have a dance off. they also like how you can walk around and catch things in your net and climb. very cute game for children!

I love that this is a good good for all ages of kids. We have #1 and we had fun playing it i now this one will be 'the same.

This is an absolutely beautiful game. I purchased the PS2 version, brand new from Best Buy retail store for less than $10 because the case was cracked, but cover artwork/game manual/disc were all pristine.
The PS2 doesn't usually do color depth, texture and shading as well as GameCube, XBOX, XBOX 360, or of course PS3; however, whenever possible, I prefer playing 3D platform games on PS2 or PS3 because when playing ingame fast button press challenges requiring timed accuracy, Circle, Square, Triangle, X always works better than GameCube's red, green, shoulder button timed speed pressing, and is a little better than XBOX/XBOX 360's Red, Blue, Green, Yellow,- which is my next favorite preference.
(As I paid $6.21, tax included for the PS2 version, and it looks and plays really good, I am quite satisfied that I got the best possible deal,- although as colorful and bright as well as great texturing/shading as this PS2 version is, I cannot help but wonder if the 360 or PS3 versions look even better).

The single, multiplayer and mini-games for both are well done, both in terms of graphics and environments, and character control is precise as are the camera angle viewpoint adjusting controls (occassionally, some background objects can obscure the view angle you would prefer, most notably in miniature golf minigame, but it rarely occurs and can be worked around). Miniature golf, by the way, is excellently done, both in appearance and physics,- not a sloppily done childs platform game.

I highly recommend this game for 'children' 8 to 80 (and younger or older 'young' if they have the hand-eye coordination and dexterity required to appreciate the precision with which the characters can perform). No one loves great 3D platform games as much as I do, and this one ranks high on my list of beautifully rendered movie to game translation.
