Judy Simmons illustrates machine needlelace and other techniques inside 96 pages. Place needlelace design, develop your stitching skills by practice and creation. step-by-step photos (color), as Judy would say embellished garments, plus quilts are included. Photos have up-close detail so you can examine needlelace and understand how its done.
designing a border page 57, specialty fabrics page 51, background fabric page 14, bobbin curls page 90, threading a twin needle page 66, adding needlelace borders to quilts page 62, needlelace basics page 42, machine applique page 33, fabric and thread page 12, designing your project page 24 & more to read so you can become a master needlelacer.
I enjoyed looking at book, but I don't think I'd ever do any needlelace in my lifetime. I was always wondering how this design on clothing is established.
I rated book 5*****, everything you need as a beginner should be here in this book for full understanding and ability to grasp machine needlelace for the first time. Dimensional Embellishments chapter nine= petals, insects, beads, thread fuzzies, thread-covered wire. Bobbin work= bobbin couching, stumpwork, machine bobbin lace, bobbin curls. Lines garments, overlays, curved edges, printed fabrics, well you can see how book teaches and learns on.
