The Macarthur Study Bible by John MacArthur (2006, Hardcover)

John Macarthur is considered by many to be the greatest living Bible Theologian. And for good reason. He has been the Senior Pastor Teacher at Grace Community Church in Panorama City, California since the early ‘70s, teaching Sunday morning and Sunday evening services to a congregation whose membership numbers up in the 1000s.

He has been a man who has remained fully accountable in both his ministry and in his life. Over the years John has systematically taught from beginning to end through many books in both the Old and New Testaments. He carefully, meticulously digs deeply into every small nuance of the Scriptures and often takes several years to complete a study in a single book. If I recall correctly it took him 8 years to complete teaching the Book of Matthew. I was attending Grace at that time and he was extremely thorough in his teaching of the book.

We own his Study Bible and have found his characteristic, painstaking examination of the scriptures to be present throughout each passage in the same careful way he has taught God’s word from for the pulpit. John is well versed in both Greek and Hebrew and is willing to spend the hours of study necessary to accurately present the material.

I would highly recommend the Macarthur Study Bible to anyone who has a heart to know and understand the Creator God of the Universe, His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Truth that we all should sincerely desire to find, know and understand.
