  Macgregor Mactec 3 wood

This has been the longest and straightest 3 wood I have ever used. I thought the prices for the club were much better than the Tour Edge Exotic and they have very similiar technology.

Great club if you have trouble hitting long irons!

I bought this club after trying a friends club. After buying the 3 iron replacement and trying it, I also bought the 2 iron. This club is very forgiving and a lot easier to hit than a long iron. It hits the ball very high and it comes down softly. It is great off the fairway and super out of the rough, it does not matter what type of lie you have in the rough, it just flies right out of it. The fujikura graphite shaft is amazing on this club, the ball seems to go like crazy off this club.

Macgregor MacTec NVG2 Fairway: 3 Wood
Review created: 08/15/08
by:

After hitting Ping, TaylorMade, Callaway and Cobra woods, I tried the new Macgregor MacTec NVG2 woods and must say for a significantly lower price than all the other 'name' brands (that we know the professionals all play) the Macgregor NVG2's are truly fine!

Don't snicker, until you try them. Long and straight when you need it, but the ability to draw or slice this 3 wood makes it a great club to have in my bag.

I'm about a 6 - 8 handicapper and that's all I'll ever be, but this club and the utility hybrids and the 460 Draw Driver all s w e e t. Buy them on Ebay at a drastic reduction to RETAIL pricing, and see how nice they are in your bag.

  Best on the market

First round averaged about 270 off the tee. I hit it once on the range before going to the course and have found my favorite club. The original grip is terrible but that is the only complaint. Stock shaft has fit my swing and the ball "jumps" off the clubface. It is nearly impossible not to hit straight due to the weighting and positioning of the clubface. A true diamond in the rough.

MacTec 7 wood - great club!
Review created: 07/29/08

I love this club! It rounds out my set of MacTec driver, 3wood, 5wood. I will never hit my 3 iron again! You would have to pry my cold dead fingers off of these woods to get them away from me. I have never owned fairway woods that were so easy to hit well. I may pitch my Macgregor 4 iron if I can find the matching 9 wood.

  MacGregor MacTec woods: wicked good
Review created: 04/19/08

Yes this is about the MacTecs. Stick with me for a second.

Tour Edge makes a line of clubs called the Exotics ... driver, woods, hybrids, irons .... that are exceptional high end clubs. Their marketing line is that their 3 wood is guaranteed 20 yards longer than your current one. Many have found that the Exotics 3-wood can outhit their former driver, with more accuracy. I have them, and can attest that it is true. They are rocket launchers.

Problem: An Exotics fairway wood can cost $300. For one. Solution: MacTec fairway woods. I think of them as the "poor man's" Exotics ... in particular, the fairway woods are laser straight, effortless, and long. They are deeply discounted on eBay right now, and while they last, are about the best bargain you can get.

I have found the MacTec driver average good ... same with the hybrids ... the Mactec irons are one of the easiest hitting forgiving clubs around ... the top line is thicker, which many low-cappers don't like ... but they get the ball up easily, and straight, consistently--I took mine, brand new and untested, out on a day when I was recovering from a shoulder injury, and had a somewhat restricted swing ... and still scored an 83 on a new course ... if I had to recommend the best bargain irons or fairway woods for the average player right now, the MacGregor MacTec's would be it.

  Great fairway wood

Had purchased a MacTec 7 wood and hit it so well I bought a 3 wood to use off the tee or fairway on the par 5s. I like it as much as my 7 wood. My wife also has a MacTec 3 wood and hits it great. She got the 3 wood because she has MacTec hybrids and really likes them.

This is the BEST 3Wood I have ever owned!! I hit it 250+ everytime. Very forgiving and easy to hit club. A great option off the ground or off the tee when my MacTec driver isin't working for me.
A MUST HAVE, especially for the price from "BEYONDPAR" here on EBay!!!!

  Great club

The club looks good when you're looking down at it. The club is easy to hit and gets the ball in the air easily. The club has a very solid feel at impact and it is easy to work the ball. I have nothing bad to say about this club. Macgregor has only been known for their irons for the last so many years, but they hit a home run with all of their NVG 2 driver's, wood's, and hybrid's. I have nothing but Macgregor clubs in my bag these days despite the their popularity.

It is a great club. I had heard from a friend that has one that it was the best hybrid club that he has used. Compared to the uther name brand makers, this club is the most solid one I have used. I will stay with ths one. And for the value I couldn't go wrong.

The club has an excellent feel and when hit produces a nice sound and great distance. Since I bought it in the late fall, I have not had a chance to try it more than 3 times. The feel is different from the NVG driver.

It was not exactly the club I was looking for. I thought it would be more like the MacTec hybrids, which I prefer. I have since purchased two MacTec hybrids that I'm able to hit easier and like much better.

I have played several rounds of golf with this 7 wood and was surprised and well pleased with the results. I probably already made my money back on lost balls.I don't use it on every hole but there are occasions were it comes in handy

Mac Tec 3 wood 15 degree
Review created: 05/12/09
by:

Well this is the nicest 3 wood for the money that I have ever used it is easy to get airbourn from all lies and it has a small head much like the adams woods but the shaft in this wood is much better the stiff shaft plays like a firm shaft or I should say something between a regular and a stiff shaft. I don't think you can go wrong I have been looking for that just right 3 wood you can hit down the middle from the tee and also hit it high off a tight lie.

  MacTec woods
Review created: 04/08/09

the woods, 3-5-7 are wonders. easy to learn to play and great distances.

while the five is great one can easily play the 3 and the 7 and add a lob wedge for a balenced set. MacGregor is an old company but at the cutting edge nowadays. these V-foil models are gems and outplay the other companies models by a long shot.

  AMAZING AND UNDER RATED!!
Review created: 04/04/09
by:

OK, THE MACGREGOR BRAND IS KINDA UP IN THE AIR THESE DAYS, BUT, THESE MACTEC WOODS ARE MONEY. THE MACTEC NVG2 WOODS HAVE A TITANIUM CUP FACE, AND ARE ALL OVER EBAY FOR PRACTICALLY NOTHING. MACGREGOR IS SOOOO UNDER RATED THESE LAST FEW YEARS, ITS SUCH A SHAME. THESE WOODS ARE VERY LONG AND ACCURATE. I PLAY THE 5 WOOD AND THE 3 WOOD IN MY BAG STILL TO THIS DAY!!! THE STOCK SHAFTS ARE JUST OK, BUT ITS STILL WORTH IT. THEY HAVE A NICE MEDIUM TO HIGH BALL FLIGHT, AND THEY HAVE PRETTY GOOD FEEL. JUST AS A SIDE NOTE, THE TOUR EDGE EXOTICS WOODS ARE DESIGNED EXACTLY THE SAME WITH A TITANIUM CUP FACE ON THE WOODS. YOU WILL SAVE BOUT 300.00 BUCKS IF U BUY THE MACS!!! AND THEY ARE JUST AS LONG!!! ENJOY..
