Ma and Pa Kettle Go to Town (VHS, 1994)

I bought this to grab a bit of nostalgic comedy from my childhood days. Catching a Ma & Pa movie at the theater or perhaps on tv was always a joy. Margorie Maine & Percy Kilbride were perfect in their rolls as Ma & Pa. Couple them with a bunch of kids so large that they make the Brady Bunch look like an empty nest and you got laughs. The Kettle movies are a part of my youth just as are The Three Stooges, The Little Racals and The Bowery Boys. If none of these names mean anything to you and American Pie is the funniest thing you ever saw, then perhaps the Kettles aren't for you. If you have a true love of comedy, as an art, Ma & Pa will make you laugh.
