Loved the show since it came out in the early 1990s. Wished it would have ran for a little longer. The cast went on to do the shoe called Viva La Variety and Reno 911.

truly one of a kind bizarre humor. you can't find this anywhere else. totally worth it! i remember loving this when i was younger. these skits are my exact sense of humor. the reno 911 and wet hot american summer humor are similar but nothing beats the unashamed rampant humor of the state.

I remember this show as being incredibly funny and edgy. They really "pushed the limits." There were still 2 or 3 skits that made me laugh, but 90% of the tape was just weird. Since The State came out 12 years ago, shows like South Park, Family Guy, and Chappelle's Show have pushed comedic standards much higher. The majority of the skits just aren't that funny anymore.
