MTV Music Generator (PlayStation, 1999)

MTV Music generator was definitely ahead of its time. Prepare to spend a lot of time making music with this game.

I love this game/music generator. Its a classic and the best one they made. Wish they would come out with a new one for the playstation 3.

When it first had been released for the Playstation gaming console I purchased it right away, and it was a lot of fun. All of my games got stolen when I was a teenager, so I sought to recover some of the ones I liked best. This game is great, and makes amazing music, though it is limited by the amount of memory you can have in a memory card without being able to transfer or publish your creations in any way. It is creation of music for its own sake. Unlike the computer gaming consoles of today, the playstation was limited, although in its time it was the best thing ever.

great music making product . Had one b4 but lost it in a move,but it is all good now.If anyone doesn't have the money for fruityloops this is a affordable way to get tha same sound.

Thers nothe i dont like about mtv generator. what i do like is it relly eazy to play. Its been 9 year since i hade one and it like it never left my home.

I've had this game on PC for the past 3 years and since it came out in 2000 for the Playstation. I absolutely recommend this program if you want to get your feet wet making studio style music. The Playstation version is easier to use but the PC version allows you to record your work. I recommend version 1 of the series if you want to sample from other outlets(cd,records,tapes). We have our own website dedicated to MTMG users.

Love it u can make fabulous tracks on this thing, its almost professional. The sounds n beats u can make are crazy! Highly reccomend!

I love it its more complicated than I ever imagined. the sounds that you can make are great and the complexity is intense. I didn't know that the game was a virtual studio. I wish that you could record sounds on it to play instead of prerecorded stuff, but hey that is all you can do.
I hope that the next version of it you can.

Great product. Kind of rare though, but definetly worth the search. It really isn't like all the new music making games out there. This one really lets you get creative by allowing you to create your own samples. it also lets you create videos that playback with your music. Lots of effects to really get you kicked in and inspired. Great video game, one of the best for the playstation one.
