A pretty solid game

Working for the Quakes and aspiring to one day be a GM of a Major League club is what prompted me to give this game a shot. Let me start off by saying that by no means is this game perfect, but it is a really fun game. I can def. see where this game gets bad reviews, but as far as running the organization goes, its just flat out entertaining.
You start off by selecting the team you wish to control throughout your career. You begin during the 2008 off-season and must negotiate with players who are eligble for free agency, arbitration, etc. It is very important to stay within your budget, especially when dealing with 6 clubs (your MLB, AAA, AA, A+, A, SS teams). You must keep track of your 40 man roster, protect top players who are eligible for the Rule 5 draft, offer arbitration, give player signing bonuses, and even offer players incentive bonuses for performing well.
All the rules regarding personnel moves are present: super 2's, rule 5, type A/B free agents, and much more. People rate this game low becauase of the simulation stats. Too many players hit .400 during the season, the Reds won 22 games (not a typo), and a few other bugs. However, if you can somehow get past this, it is def. a worthwhile game and would recommend it to anyone who is on the fence of purchasing this game.
There is nothing more rewarding than selecting a bottom dweller team like the Nationals and stockpiling their minor league organization with quality prospects in order to set the foundation for them to compete in the future. After having 4 straight 100+ loss seasons, I was able to finally hit .500 in year 5 after trading high salaried guys for prospects, importing japanese stars, and having successful amateur drafts all while operating with a strict budget.
This game gets an 8/10.
