MLB '07: The Show (Playstation 3)

Description
MLB 07 The Show makes the transition to next-gen with a suite of advanced features in its race to become MVP of 2007's baseball crop. The all-new Road to The Show mode enables gamers to play both offense and defense from the created player's perspective. Providing an even more realistic experience from the mound, the all-new New Pitch Command System (PCS) delivers comprehensive strategy to pitch selection, as a pitcher's "pitch comfort" will be predetermined based on a best to worst pitch scenario. It is up the gamer to decide if he/she should try to "work on a pitch" or just go with what is working. Additionally, with the Adaptive Pitching Intelligence (API) feature, catchers will call the game based on the individual strengths and weaknesses of each pitcher as well as analyze tendencies of batters. Gamers will now have the ability to either trust the pitches called by the catcher or shake them off. MLB 07 The Show also delivers a robust online feature set, including Online League Play, which offers the ability to set up customizable leagues with up to 30 teams, complete with full stat tracking, point benefits and rewards.

The BEST MLB game on PS3

if you have played the PS2 version of this game, even only for one inning, you will find this game to be easy. This game also has better graphics than what
all of us expected, in our opinion the graphics beat out MLB 2K7. Here are pros and cons:
      Pros:
      Easy Learning Curve
Keeps the old MLB the show series pitching/batting/fielding style.
Probably the most authentic gameplay/graphics/A.I. since MVP 05.
      Great Soundtrack/Download of MLB Ticker
      Great Graphics(Better than 2k7)
      Great Gameplay/Camera Angles
      Cons:
      Slow Loading Times
      Commentators are better on 2k7.
      The score:
      9.2/10
Great Game, Better Graphics. This game was definitely worth the 2 month delay and for all baseball/PS3 fans get this. Game has 4 levels.

Major League Blunder 07: What Show?
      Review created: 05/16/07

MLB 07 for the PS3 tries to carry over everything from the PS2 version of the game, such as the Pitch Command System, Road to the Show and umpire personalities. It also tries to add to the mix with some brand new animations, better textures for stadium and some new Sixaxis controls. However, there's a few significant problems that wind up arising with the title that keep it from being great: some gameplay mechanics that were better in the PS2 version of the game didn't make it over to the PS3, while others don't work as well as you'd expect them to. Plus, for a first party baseball title that's coming out as late as MLB 07 is this year, you'd expect, perhaps even demand something that stretched the capabilities of the system. As it currently stands, The Show feels like a ported PS2 game - a good PS2 game, but one nonetheless.

Players will still be able to use the catcher's calls as well as the confidence their hurler feels in a particular pitch to improve their success on the mound. However, they'll need to take into account the Umpire Personalities, which will call the strike zone tighter, looser or right down the middle

Batting is still solid, thanks to the included Swing Analysis tool that gives you an indication as to the timing and location of your swing as well as the location of the ball. On the other hand, queuing up bases with the new baserunning targeting system can still be a bit sticky. Fortunately, the new meter that was implemented for fielding to determine the strength of a throw has been tightened up significantly
