The best horror writer of all time, fantastic

Lovecraft, like Edgar Allen Poe, was one of the best horror writers of all time. His collection of tales was among the best, and to this day, is still unparalleled in the world of horror.
The main reason, is that his tales are believable and in fact, quite frightening, because he relied on the reader to create their own horror and use their minds to scare themselves, rather than spoon feeding you a tale of pulp that would depict some ghoul or thing and describe it in great detail as it "walked through walls" or some other silly gimick. His stories were written in such depth and meticulous detail that they shame the movies and books of todays horror genre.
If you can get a chance to acquire this book, or a similiar lovecraft novellete, I would strongly suggest it. Of the many endless short stories I have written I owe all my love of the short story to Poe, and to Lovecraft.
His tales often explain the lead ups to how the writer has ended up in a lunatic assylum and how no one believes him for his obvious mental neanderings, but to the reader, he is drawn into the very complex and extremely clever mind of the story teller, so much so, that you begin to doubt what you really know about sanity and horror itself.
