If your into Texas holdem you'll like this movie. If your looking for a romance its a bit weak. But the movie is based more on the son overcoming his nemisis his father.

Nice Dynamic Between Father And SonI will say I think Drew Barrymore is under used in this movie. I never thought there was much chemistry between Barrymore and Bana. I did like the scenes with Duvall and Bana. I really bought into how Bana's character grows up during the course of the movie. I don't play poker so I can comment on the authenticity of the movie but I love the whole family dynamic between the two males leads. There is also a nice cameo by Robert Downey Jr.

) I decided to buy this movie because it dealt with poker. I really liked how they used real poker players and a real poker room set to make the movie. They did such a good job with the movie and the story and I would recommend this movie to anyone especially someone who likes poker.

I actually forgot about this movie until I was reading an old Cardplayer magazine and saw the ad and decided to buy it. I found it at one of the big books stores and it was $28, bought it on ebay for $7. It is a good movie, better than I expected it to be. I liked how they worked in some of the wild bets between players that I have read about in other books. Living in a hotel restroom for 30 days, playing golf and some other wild bets. If you enjoy poker it worth the time to check it out.

the movie was predictable and that made it not verygoodThe movie, right down to almost every line was somewhat predictable. One scene looked like Drew Barrymore was thinking that she couldn't believe she was even saying the lines she was about to say. Otherwise, the story line was the story line and if you like vegas lines or stupid gambling things, it was okay.
