Doris Day & Friends
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.
This is a Doris Day film that is rarely shown anymore, maybe on TMC once in a great while. She stars with Bob Cummings, Phil Silvers and Nancy Walker (of "Rhoda" fame). Doris is with a third rate theatrical troupe of unemployed entertainers and they all have to take menial jobs in a Miami hotel during hard times. Doris tries to attract the attention of Cummings, an oil tycoon, to finance their new show. This is not Ms. Days best musical and it can get mediocre at times, but with funny Nancy Walker and Phil Silvers to assist with laughs it stays afloat. A young Angie Dickinson has a very small part...her first.
