| Product Information | The Ascend Series56 Digital Modem module offers corporations, ISPs and network service providers industry-leading access performance and increased flexibility and extensibility. By incorporating the ITU-T V.90 specification, these modules let subscribers use either V.90- or V.34-compatible modems to download data from a corporate office or the Internet at speeds up to 56 Kbps. The Ascend Max modem rule is "Match, Don't Mix". All modems in a single chassis must be homogeneous i.e. if you already have 12 port 56K cards in a chassis, you can only add 12 port 56K cards for expansion. If you already have 8 port 56K cards in a chassis, you can only add 8 port 56K cards. You cannot mix v.34 cards and 56K cards in a single chassis. (you can mix 12 and 16 port 56K cards in a chassis though).
