LUCAS is as UNDERappreciated as the Fictional Character
It's Surprising that a low budget family movie from 1986 could actually have this quality. Yes... THIS MOVIE IS ACTUALLY WELL MADE. Not only does it capture some very vivid characters perfectly, take us on a comming of age story as the characters undergo hardships that we can all relate to, but this film also captures the look and feel of 1986 beautifuly. It captures the era as well as Sofia Coppola's "Virgin Suicides" Captured the 70s. The only reason that Lucas isn't at the same cult status as the breakfast club, is merely some of it's heartbreaking content. Don't get me wrong though, this film is only heavy in certain parts. It's very rewatchable for all ages. It's always great to see a comming of age family film, that ACTUALLY HAS A BRAIN. It was a strong screenplay, and I really hope that this film gets more recognition in the future.
