I purchased my H20 in March of 2006. I wanted something that was portable, waterproof, easy to use and one which has many options. I definitely found what I was looking for. The Lowrance H20 is small and easy to carry, but its viewing screen is a good size for navigation. The screen is hard to read in the sun until you turn on the backlight. The backlight really lights up the display and it is easy to read. I use my GPS when boating to locate fish havens and good diving destinations. It finds its GPS position in a relatively short amount of time and rarely looses its signal. You need to buy different navigation cards in order to get the information you need loaded into the unit, which is pretty normal. I decided not to give the unit 5 out of 5 because it could be a little easier to use. It takes a while to get used to making waypoints and trails; however everything else is rather easy. This unit has been dropped, thrown (don't ask), submerged in water and yet it looks brand new and works like a charm!

I recommend this inexpensive GPS unit to the recreational hiker, diver or boater. You won't be disappointed, just keep the manual handy!

  Good GPS

I am by no means an expert on a GPS buy, but I did borrow one from a friend and that was a difficult to figure out high priced junk box. I gave in and bought this model and was relieved to find out how easy it is to use! I got the maps later for about $110 after paying $149 for the GPS. So whoever paid over $200 for this you might want to find other places to shop. I use mine for Geocaching mainly, but it is so easy I would be able to use it hunting and fishing also! I love this thing with how easy it is to use as a first time owner/user of a GPS. The screen is distinct and easy to read, the book explains things clearly. Entering way points got to be easier cause I do it a lot with entering one for each new cache i go in search of.
The bad part about the card is that it was hard to find a retailer here that sold them. They sold the GPS itself but not the maps, so I had to do some research on getting that, but that still wasn't too hard.
I am very happy with this GPS.

doesn't include software to make your own maps. but which ones do? decent in the looks department. not too user friendly for the fresh gps users. but would still recommend it to the weekend or fair weather fisherman/hunter.

I purchased this unit on the premise it came with a functional NauticPath chip, which retails for approximately $150.00. The chip is not functional. I paid $256.23 plus shipping for the above unit and chip. I can purchase a brand new warranted unit (less chip) for $229.95. I have tried to negotiate with the seller, but she refuses. I have also offered to send the chip back for a reduction or send both the unit and chip back for a full refund. The seller refuses both of my offers. I am very disappointed. I will think twice about using E-Bay in the future.

I always wanted one of these units but could not see paying over $100.. I'm wrong they are really worth the price at $150+.I have only had the unit for a day but am taking the time to learn how to use it. There is many features to this GPS that I am learning talking to other folks on fishing blogs. I got a good deal by offering a reasonable bid and the seller agreeing, that was my Christmas present to myself. I got a external antenna and xtra SD memory cards for travel data. My next upgrade for this is LakeMasters Pro Map Minnesota chip. Then I am set. Works great does not drain batteries too bad. Highly recommend to all fisherman out there.

Very good GPS, easy to use. Maps are available if you look around. Being waterproof also helps as it is used on boats and around water. Very happy.

  User friendly?
Review created: 10/02/09

This unit is user friendly only when you learn how to use it. Sometimes tech support is needed. I bought this unit because I got lost on a lake at night that I had never been on before. I bought this used unit on Ebay only to find out that this unit would not take updates from 08 and beyond. Be careful. Ask how old the unit is if you buy a used one. Delivery from seller was quick. Thankfully, I do not need all the bells and whistles. It does exactly what I wanted it for. It tracks me out, whether on water or land and brings me back. With this unit I won't get lost again.

  Lowrance iFinder h20 gps
Review created: 06/09/09

Lo consiglio a chi vuole utilizzarlo come me in mare e nell' outdoor in generale.

Great Unit for in -shore fishing
Review created: 05/25/09

I fish the near shore Pacific ocean here in Oregon. I have used one of these units with no problems for three years. I wouldn't go to sea without it ! When fog comes in quickly, I know where I am an the way home. I bought this second unit as a backup, and to use for a research project. They are waterproof and easy to use.

Good battery life and they use AA so easy to get and keep extrats on hand.
