I purchased my H20 in March of 2006. I wanted something that was portable, waterproof, easy to use and one which has many options. I definitely found what I was looking for. The Lowrance H20 is small and easy to carry, but its viewing screen is a good size for navigation. The screen is hard to read in the sun until you turn on the backlight. The backlight really lights up the display and it is easy to read. I use my GPS when boating to locate fish havens and good diving destinations. It finds its GPS position in a relatively short amount of time and rarely looses its signal. You need to buy different navigation cards in order to get the information you need loaded into the unit, which is pretty normal. I decided not to give the unit 5 out of 5 because it could be a little easier to use. It takes a while to get used to making waypoints and trails; however everything else is rather easy. This unit has been dropped, thrown (don't ask), submerged in water and yet it looks brand new and works like a charm!
I recommend this inexpensive GPS unit to the recreational hiker, diver or boater. You won't be disappointed, just keep the manual handy!
