i decieded to buy a x-over Gps,but there were not many at all.

I bought this aweek ago from Walmart.com for $149 site-to-store. I am very impressed with it and have reccomended it to many of my friends.
Pros:
Price. Very easy to use interface. Great touch screen. It is a very good GPS for dashboard and handheld navigation. Waterproof, so I can use it offshore in my boat without fear of splashing it with a little ocean spray. There are tons of maps available to purchase to go along with it, especially nautical maps, which are not available to other crossover GPS units (ie. magellan crossover). It is very accurate. Large color display.
Cons:
Can't manually change the route.(you can change whether or not to drive on interstates and toll roads in options, but you can't drag the route to one you prefer over the automatically generated route like you can on google maps, mapquest, etc. However there is a workaround. You just add legs to your trip to force it to go the way you want it to. I.e. If you wanted to take a scenic route and it mapped the fastest route instead, just add a few stops along the scenic route to your trip plan and it will calculate the new route so that it passes through those stops, which is only possible if it takes the road you want it to.) Can't manually type in street names.(after 1 or 2 letters it pops up a list of possible street names you have to choose from.) It would also be nice if it had an option to chose either fastest route or shortest route. It only calculates the route that it determines (based on speed limits) to be the fastest route.

Works fast in the car, for redirect. Lets you know far enough for turns coming up. Also works great in the woods. Marking stands and all other points that need to be marked!

I just bought this GPS receiver and got it today. I have been messing with it and so far it looks like it is going to work fine for what I want. I wanted one that is versital that I could use riding the trails on my UTV and then put it in the boat to go find the beg fish. It is a little small but on the other hand you can put it in your shirt pocket easily.

I gave the xog a review only a good rating, but only because the manual for it is so difficult to use. The unit its self is very good and easy to learn if you just start playing with it. The manual is just to technical, at least for me...

This unit is very user friendly and has great applications for off road use. The one short-coming is the short battery life.

lowrance xoggreat little unit just a heads up make sure you have the latest software update downloaded to your unit need to buy sd card 2g works fine go to lowrance's website to get it will address some of the problems I read in the other reviews great unit for the money use it for motorcycling waterproof a must and in my car real deal for the money

My New XOGI like that it has the guage function that tells you exactly how fast you are going(for the cops). Also I like that I can use it on my 4-wheeler in the big off-road parks. When it gets dark its DARK!I can walk straight back to camp if I get stuck or break down. It also has on the water function so that I can use it on my big boat for a back-up. Plus I can download hot spots for fishing. I can take it with me when I fish with my buddies so that I can program their spots or share mine. When I check my digital game camera I can download the pictures on my XOG. So that I can view or edit them. No wonder they quit making these units, it does everything for a good price!
