Love's Abiding Joy is the fourth book in the Love Comes Softly Series.

This novel brings Clark and Marty west, to visit their daughter and son-in-law, Missie and Willie LaHaye. Willie and Missie have established a ranch, as well as a small family of their own.

Tragedy strikes during Clark and Marty's visit, and forces them to lengthen their stay. Their relationships, plans for the future, and faith are tested to the core.

I loved this book! There are realistic trials in it but what I absolutely love about it is that it teaches how our wonderful Heavenly Father(God)can help us through absolutely anything no matter how hard it is for us! The writer is not of my faith, but I am Christian as well and find that what she writes about fits my beliefs very well. It's so wonderful to find a book that is not only fun to read but goes right along with your beliefs in God!!! It teaches how one has tendencies to turn bitter towards God and life when hardships come. Janette Oke then teaches how important it is to trust God and the plans that He has for us. Sometimes God allows us to go through hard things to give us the opportunity to grow and become better people! We can choose to make hard things in our life for our personal growth or we can make life more miserable for us by deciding to become bitter. It's our choice. It's up to us but we can never go through things alone and thankfully we don't have to because God will always be there for us!
