This is a great book! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! We have an adopted child who has this disorder and we've been tearing ourselves up not knowing how to help her. She is literally described on every page of the book. The advice on how to tackle each problem that occurs is very straightforward and rather creative. We feel more empowered each day to take on this new chapter in our lives. Where once we felt helpless and hopeless we now feel encouraged and excited to watch her blossom into the young lady God intended her to be. Our journey is just beginning but we know this book will help and we will succeed!!! The book makes total sense. If you have a child who has emotional problems don't wait. Get help now and get support.

GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!! I love this lady's philosophies, they make sense. (like putting emotions into positive things and not into negative things, the behavior that gets the most pizazz will be reinforced.) It is still a behavioral approach, but with a different flare: love and gentleness, but more extreme discipline, which is needed for a very hurt child. I do feel she is a little extreme in some areas that seem like it would be difficult to implement(example: the losing "talking" priveleges for chatter boxes). But other than that, it is the best practical advice, real ideas and answers to kids that don't seem to respond to regular discipline. Best book I've read on the subject! If you have adopted or do foster care, please read this. Jill
