I ordered this movie because I love a good comedy. It was a little unexpected yet entertaining. I love that it is full of well known stars. I was a little disappointed in the content. If I had known there were undertones of homosexuality I would not have bought it.

This movie (Love Letter) was funny. I enjoyed watching it and the actors were great. Ellen DeGenerous is always funny and didn't disappoint in this movie. Thanks.

Great cast and interaction between all - nice plots and subplots - I think many people can relate to this movie.

Charming, witty, entertaining - just what I want in this type of movie.

I do like a movie where the characters set a slower pace than what we are experienceing in real life... I think I would have liked more views of the landscape and the beach and water, and I dont think the love letter was a good thing for the inhabitants of Loblolly, it may have changed their lives but not for the better, If Johnny hadnt read the letter he might not have pursued Helen, and then she would have been free to be with George, it's all in the timing, now George is returning to New York and Johnny is going to college and Helen will be alone...and that's a bummer. Of course I love Ellen, great to see her in a movie, but didnt see any happy endings for any of the main characters

  Love Letter
Review created: 02/05/08

This is one of those delightful little movies that's so quirky and well done you have to watch it over and over. Perhaps I watch movies again and again more than most people because I play them on a corner of my computer screen while I work. So my tolerance and enjoyment for a film has to be because the film delights and yet not distracts. This movie with simple and well done performances from all players, even the new young actress Julianne Nicholson and especially older favorites such as Kate Capshaw, Tom Selleck and Ellen DeGeneres, pleases me more with each watching. Furthermore the letter of the title is quite well done. So that which moves the whole story forward is exactly what it should be.

  The Love Letter (1999)
Review created: 02/03/08

A wonderfully clever, intricately woven, lighthearted movie, The Love Letter is just a lovely (ableit short) romp through a quaint little town filled with unusual people who may just not be so unusual after all.... when a few of them discover a brilliantly written and intensely heartfelt love letter. Each of folks who find the love letter is sure they deserve it (in one way or another)! even if they are not so sure of who its from. The unexpected twist at the end was really refreshing and Ellen Degenerous simply shines in this movie and reminds us again how talented she really is. The Love Letter gets 4 out of a possible 5 stars from me.

I kinda like this movie. Finally some kind of "lesbian" relationship is shown and the daughter accepting the mother. But the biggest message of the love letter that i love and that is embedded in this movie is that you have to say you love someone don't wait until it's last minute or it can be too late.
