Loved this book. My family especially loved the shrimp etouffee.. The Rustic Rub is great in making blacken foods.
This is a down to earth cookbook that you will love to experiment with. Jambalayas and gumbos are endless, mouthwatering varieties. It does have some spicy recipes, the signature of Louisiana. The aroma itself is mouth-watering.
If you don't like your food too spicy, then I would recommend cutting the spice ingredients in half.

I have an extensive Louisiana cookbook collection, and "Louisiana Real and Rustic" is my favorite. This is how Louisianians really cook (take it from a Louisiana cook): simple recipes, simple ingredients, delicious results. I would especially recommend this "no frills" cookbook to men.
