Classic Adventure Story.

People normally associate Arthur Conan Doyle with the Sherlock Holmes mysteries, but this book is in an entirely different genre. It is an excellent adventure story, that ranks up there with Jules Verne's Mysterious Island and Journey to the Center of the Earth, and HG Wells' Time Machine. Seperately, it should also be noted that The Lost World bears little or no resemblence to Jurassic Park movie.
