John Williams' score for THE LOST WORLD evokes the film with an intensity that ranges from subtle to almost overwhelmingly dark, presenting a constantly moving image of grandeur and adventure, terror and bravery. The movie continues the story of genetically-engineered dinosaurs run amok which began with the original JURASSIC PARK. Dr. Ian Malcom and his team of scientists investigate rumors that something has survived the disaster which supposedly destroyed the man-made dinosaurs, and the discovery they make is terrifying indeed. From the pounding, energetic theme "The Lost World" to the emotional tension of "Rescuing Sarah," this instrumental soundtrack reflects all the urgency and drama of the movie.
