Lost in Space Vol. 1 by Original TV Soundtrack (CD, Nov-1997, GNP/Crescendo)

This TV series which has universal appeal with kids even today, stuck with me as I grew up because of it's imaginative and colorful use of wild plots and special effects propelled by music. I believe the music is how the show really worked as it set the mood with serious tones and great suspense. This CD shows clearly the excellent orchestration involved in creating otherworldly sounds and maximizing the viewer's involvement in what would otherwise be dismissed as a silly kid's show. The music allows a richer experience. Sonically this CD displays the full range from deep bass to searing highs with good clarity and a bearable amount of shrillness often suffered on vintage material remastered to CD. A fun musical ride.
